One Chance To Prove Yourself [CTPWC]

As I walk through the large looming doors,
My heart starts thudding like a wild caged bird,
Follow down the long, dimly lit corridor,
All I need is to hear just one simple word,

Yes You have true talent,
and this was time well spent.

Will the stars align today, will my dreams come true,
My mouth gets so dry, it can't get dry!!!
I cannot fail to go out there and find my voice and prove,
That I can make the world rejoice and fly,

I can be a star! I can be the one,
To take the world by surprise,
To sing a song that was never sung,
My one chance to turn all eyes

My way and to hear them all say,
Today on this day,
You're heading toward L.A.,
And this is all I want and pray,
That this chance on this one day,
Will lead the way.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but your poem made me think of American Idol (my better half and I are fans). I enjoyed reading it. Thanks for sharing!

It should seem similar, it's how I imagine it would be for someone trying out for either that or XFactor, moreso Xfactor as there is no age limit. No offense taken, someone finally really got it! Thank you!
