You might be on to something there.

Albert Einstein always said time is just an illusion.
he concluded the past, present, and future all exist simultaneously.

He was also know for another quote, "The reason for time is so everything doesn't happen at once"

Einstein's belief in an undivided solid reality was clear to him, so much so that he completely rejected the separation we experience as the moment of now. He believed there is no true division between past and future, there is rather a single existence. His most descriptive testimony to this faith came when his lifelong friend Besso died. Einstein wrote a letter to Besso's family, saying that although Besso had preceded him in death it was of no consequence, "...for us physicists believe the separation between past, present, and future is only an illusion, although a convincing one."

So from Einstein's point of view. since all time, past, present and future are occurring simultaneously. your just skipping back an forth threw events that have always been there

Speaking of Einstein, his theory of relativity suggests that travelling forward in time is theoretically possible.

The theory of relativity is that time itself is relative. So the faster you go, the slower time moves for you. If you were somehow able to move fast enough, seconds or minutes that pass for you would be days, weeks, months or years for everyone else.

But that is also where E=MC2 comes into play. Energy = Mass x Speed of Light-squared. This means, the faster you go, the more mass you have. And thus the more energy you need to maintain that speed.

Now the OP's theory on time travel isn't so much time travel but suspended animation. It's like when you are sleeping the conscious parts of the brain become inactive and the subconscious parts of the brain take over. So when you sleep for 8 hours at night, it seems like far less time has passed.

In a state of suspended animation, you would basically be placed into an induced coma and kept alive and healthy by machines until you got to your destination.

I have thought about time travel and it is possible, but only forward. This came a a thought one day. Mentally, we travel to the future every time we fall asleep while physically our body stays. For example: Two people are in a room. One falls asleep while the other stays awake. The person asleep already knows what the next day is like. This is because, as we sleep, the hours that pass feel like mere minutes and time seems to fly as we sleep. So while the one person is awake, the person that is asleep in the room, mentally, is already awake and ready for the next day while physically he is viewed as asleep. What are your opinions on this theory and time travel in general?

I laughed out loud at his... it was meant to be funny right?
