ok, so based on my trusting your input, an F35 wasn't a possibility.
(no offense but nothing in those links say they aren't flying, just performing poorly and costing a bundle) be that as it may, i'm still not in a position to guess what may or may not have been available.
a question for you ... it sounds like you have some military exp under your belt, so, since all i can lay claim to is a KC135 joy ride and some family connections, i do know that the CIA has access to equip of which the military is unaware, do you think it's possible that something was at their disposal/dispatch that night ?
not asking for specifics (unless you know some) ... i just cannot let go of what i heard.
(no, i cannot repeat it verbatim and i wouldn't want it relayed as fact, however, i am convinced those soldiers were expecting airborne assistance)

Obama was relatively careful to not jump to any conclusions immediately after the attack. The day after the attack, he told 60 Minutes that it didn't "sound like your normal demonstration."
All while The White House had it plastered all over the media that It was the video! And Obama and Hilary even apologized on Pakistani TV for the crimes of America. And to add insult to injury, an innocent man is still sitting in jail for Obamas lies. (Although I don’t agree with his video , which was freedom of speech.) This man was not in jail the day before this happened.
Can you explain your not feeling outrage that an innocent American is sitting in jail because of Obama's lies? One American is one Anerican too many. Next it could be you or your family. I still can’t get over that we have an American in jail for a presidents lie!
For two weeks this lie was on national TV. How can you possible defend him when it is sitting right in front of your nose? Please do!
The Egyptian American director of the anti-Islam film that triggered widespread protests was yesterday detained in Los Angeles for violating probation conditions.
Since Nakoula Basseley Nakoula had committed cheque fraud, he was handed a 21-month prison term in 2010. Nakoula was directed to not use computers or the Internet for 60 months without permission.
However, federal prosecutors found that the 55-year-old Coptic Christian had lied to his probation officers and used aliases. Assistant US Attorney Robert Dugdale described Nakoula as a flight risk and pointed out a "lengthy pattern of deception"

Seriously? You think that an American is in jail because of Obama lying is more important than the loss of American lives because Obama may have not acted during the assault?
ummm, why would i explain a feeling i don't embrace ?

what are you going on about ?

Do you realize what you just typed here? You are admitting that you feel it is totally acceptable for a president to lie. And it is also totally acceptable for a president to throw a man in jail under false pretenses. Everything our for fathers stood against. You really do need to pick up and move to a communistic country that agrees with your principles. Then you will get to see what the US really is all about. All while you are sitting in jail for speaking your mind.
And BTW, all crimes and inaction committed by our president are terribly wrong.
Like I said, this man was not in jail the day before this happened. They just used the probation business as an excuse to lock him up. They can do whatever they like since they are in control. Just like a police officer can falsely "claim" you resisted arrest. Ah yes, another issue for another day...edit on 6-11-2012 by elouina because: (no reason given)
The affair was discovered during an FBI investigation, according to officials briefed on the developments. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss the matter. Petraeus carried on the affair with his biographer and reserve Army officer Paula Broadwell, according to several U.S. officials with knowledge of the situation. They spoke anonymously because they were not authorized to discuss the investigation that led to the resignation publicly.
The FBI discovered the relationship by monitoring Petraeus' emails, after being alerted Broadwell may have had access to his personal email account, two of the officials said. Broadwell did not respond to voice mail or email messages seeking comment. Petraeus' resignation shocked Washington's intelligence and political communities. It was a sudden end to the public career of the best-known general of the post 9/11 wars, a man sometimes mentioned as a potential Republican presidential candidate. His service was effusively praised Friday in statements from lawmakers of both parties.
The resignation comes at a sensitive time. The administration and the CIA have struggled to defend security and intelligence lapses before the attack that killed the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three others. It was an issue during the presidential campaign that ended with Obama's re-election Tuesday.
The CIA has come under intense scrutiny for providing the White House and other administration officials with talking points that led them to say the Benghazi attack was a result of a film protest, not a militant terror attack. It has become clear that the CIA was aware the attack was distinct from the film protests roiling across other parts of the Muslim world.
Morell rather than Petraeus now is expected to testify at closed congressional briefings next week on the Sept. 11 attacks on the consulate in Benghazi.
- Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. (Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass.; U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice; former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman; Deputy Secretary of State William Burns).
- Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner. (White House chief of staff Jack Lew; former Bill Clinton chief of staff Erskine Bowles).
-Defense Secretary Leon Panetta. (Ashton Carter, Panetta's deputy; Michele Flournoy, former Defense Department policy chief). - White House senior adviser David Plouffe.

According to this report, once General Ham received the order to stand down his response was to screw it, he was going to help anyhow. Within 30 seconds to a minute after making the move to respond, his second in command apprehended General Ham and told him that he was now relieved of his command.
If true, the General had the balls to ignoring an order to not do what he thought was the right thing to do. This tale closely follows a current ABC TV show, Last Resort.
