I don't remember infants crying screaming bawling their lungs out one minute, then happy happy joy joy, the next.. kids on multiple psychotics from barely 1yo

And alternatingly, all day and all night. They don't even seem to have a sleeptime anymore, you even have American parents routinely taking their infants to R-rated movies all hours of the night even midnight (reference - 6mo old infant(s) present during Batman Colorado shootings after midnight)

What changed? Is it something in the water? the air? And why are parents so sloppy and negligent these days? I was not raised like that and these kids are going to blossom into anything-gos drama queens and manic depressive bipolar/multiple personality emo types!

Not sure about the rest of it, but I'm fairly certain emos are simply people having access to wide spread hair sculpting and coloring product.

Damn that sculpting and coloring product! *Shakes fist*

Hmph... my father ran off when I was 6. My mom did drugs and partied every day, dumping me at my grandmother's. I don't know anyone who had parents who weren't negligent. Nobody wants kids, really. Nothing has changed. I don't know where you've been, but it must have been nice.

How old are you

Things have definitely changed. I'm sure there were always deadbeats, and druggies, but not in the proportions that currently exist.

Don't throw statistics at me to prove otherwise, I know better. We just got better at not getting into the system as often.

I think the "emo" generation has to do with many things. Entitlement mentality, the break up of the nuclear family, fluoridation of the water supply, massive amounts of pharmaceuticals being spewed out, microwave radiation out through the roof over the last decade alone, the decline of our standards of living, declining levels of testosterone in men, xenoestrogens, etc, etc...really too many to list.

I'm sorry but, WHAT?

Infants have always been known to be "bipolar". Happy one minute and screaming about something the next. They are expressing a need and infants do that by crying. Ever hear of the terrible twos? There is nothing new about that. Now, as for the sleep bit, one example of a 6 month old in a movie theater isn't the start of a national trend.

Okay I watched the video. Those kids have REALLY high voices and are supposed to be at the peak of their testosterone levels in high school.

I'm only 30 years old. Our voices were MUCH deeper than that on average.

I note the average male who is a generation older than I has a deeper voice than my generation.

It's the testosterone levels plummeting, guys and gals.

We've mucked up the environment.

I won't. I'll just use personal experience.

I'm educated, I earn good money, I have a lot of friends who are the same ... On paper I look like any normal person despite my outward apperance ... Goddamnit! I drink tap water. >.< You got me!

Some persons make a style, some people follow that style, some of those people are dorks. I think that about sums it up. Only thing I would say is alternate culture is going to be adopted by people in situations with freedom and some of that freedom can come from having parents that don't care.

It can, on the flip side, also come from having amazingly supportive parents that encourage self finding and exploration.

I'm older than you. And I wouldn't bother with statistics, they are unreliable.
It could have something to do with all the past inbreeding finally catching up with us. All the royal families did it. People in small-population towns did it, such as Edgar Allen Poe's day.
Or maybe it is old souls reincarnating who are just plain sick of this planet and this stagnant system of slavery and human farming. That would explain the entitlement mentality and the bad moods.

You don't seem to provide an adequate counter to anything I wrote. I can't take you seriously.

To be more specific, I once was a "freak" in highschool/middle school. . . long hair, black band shirts, baggy pants, etc...I don't give a poo what someone looks like on the surface. I don't equate "emo" with a style of clothing/piercings or what have you.

"emo" is this androgynous/metrosexual, woe is me, can barely get it up on a good day, but can complain worse than my sister, and have a higher pitch voice, too!! type of junk I see...and I do pity them all...I truly hope more people become aware of what's going on and why.

It hurt me to read your comment. I wanted kids, had them, raised them and will soon be a great-grammy!!

You don't give your age, Mr.Uncreated...but I hope your grandmother was very loving towards you...and I especially hope you are not so damaged that you are able to find love and accept that love. If you are too non-trusting to be involved in a relationship, I hope you get intense counseling so that you may overcome that situation. FWIW, here's a hug: (Mruncreated)
Emo generation? Just the usual generation gap, imo...many younger people are VERY informed...more informed than I was at that age...

Overmedication.

Lack Of Parenting.

Our society has slowly but surely destroyed the concept of ' villages' raising children. Where kids learned how to behave primarily from their parents, but also did a lot of growing and interacting with others.

That hardly ever happens any more. Now a days instead of attempting to fix the behavior, we simply medicate. Claim it's not the child's fault and that there is some 'imbalance' causing the issue.
