North Jersey here....

Not really all that much rain where I am at least not as much as I thought, but it's extremely windy.

Here is a picture, No it's no Venice, it's Atlantic City, it's about 2 hours from me, this is a main street a few blocks away from the ocean.... they they are saying worst is still to come.

I got the generator ready, got a wet/dry vac in case I get water, got a few cans of gas, food, water, all I can do is prepare.

To those in neighboring areas, be careful out there.

Another south jersey pic

BREAKING: NYPD issues dispersal order to Sandy, Sandy remains defiant.

It's okay, the NYPD are fully trained in issuing beatings, and they can always try all firing their pepper spray in Sandy's face too - they seem to like doing that

I'm sure I saw the Mayor of NY in an interview saying they has secured all construction sites!
I guess they missed one

It would of cost 20 30 grand to take that crane down. They said screw it we have insurance.

a thought on windspeed on the south side of sandy... if the forward motion, NW, is 30, and rotation is 90, then top sustaned in baltimore area should be 90 minus 30 or 60... should be max between 2 am tues and 8 am.
during closest approach.
there will be gusts over 60.
from fells point

I have seen and been through similar things.

Just remember,if the people are safe, beaches and houses can be rebuilt.

And for those people who chose to stay behind after a mandatory evacuation,
I really hope you make it through it unharmed, and I bet next time you will leave.

Looks like the sandy track came ashore at cape may and will cross middleton delaware. that puts baltimore 70 miles from the hurricane. the 7 pm or 8 pm update from noaa on the track of sandy will tell us how hard baltimore will be hit. I would guess that winds will be 50 or less from the NW in baltimore...tuesday early morning.
