I started reading Vasiliev about two years ago... I spent about a month looking for all the books that he ever wrote, and this never came up. Then, a about a week ago, this showed up out of the blue. Has anyone read this and what military applications might have been developed from this knowledge in the past thirty-odd years?

"AUTOWAVE PROCESSES IN KINETIC SYSTEMS: SPATIAL AND TEMPORAL SELF-ORGANISATION IN PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY AND MEDICINE (MATHEMATICS AND ITS APPLICATIONS)" by V.A. Vasiliev.

I'm assuming that the ALL CAPS title of the thread is the name of the book?

"AUTOWAVES FOR IMAGE PROCESSING ON A TWO-DIMENSIONAL CNN ARRAY OF EXCITABLE NON-LINEAR CIRCUITS: FLAT AND WRINKLED LABYRINTHS."

www.eecs.berkeley.edu...

This is as good a place as any to start reading I guess. This IS in English, notice a lack of numbers? I'm sorry I'm not a math major myself, maybe someone else on this site is?

As to what they 'created' who knows? In this study they created pictures of a Mexican Hat.

I don't know what this means, nor what is all caps in your opening post. Please explain in layman's terms. What does this mean to you and me and the fencepost? This has raised a red flag for you, inspiring you to start this thread. Please tell why.

Basically, an 'autowave' is a Russian term for an autonomously occurring wave that can set off a chain reaction to a surrounding area. They are immune to interference and have a slew of other interesting properties. I was looking into mW imaging technology and ended up getting a bit side-tracked. But all of this stuff is 30 years out-of-date anyway, so....

I haven't read the paper yet. And I am no scientist. I used to manage a Holiday Inn Express....does that count?

Anyway, one thing I will point out now (so i can footprint this thread for later) is that Berkeley, the link you provided, is heavy into military applications. Dr. Robert Baker is/was the Dean of Science there. He is also a "headhunter" for ARL. He was the one who hooked Dr. Ning Li, the NASA antigravity scientist, with ARL. She disappeared shortly after.

Dr. Baker is currently working in China on High Frequency Gravitational Wave (a generator and detector). Working with him and his company are a Who's Who of top secret science, including Dr. Hal Puthoff (of the CIA Psychic program with Ingo Swann, among many other notable programs). Buzz Aldrin is also involved over there in the same program.

I personally believe Buzz Aldrin to be among the biggest players in world science and black budget research.

Everyone take a step back and quit beating this poster up.

He found a title to something that intrigued him, from a scientist he is tracking. He is asking for details around it. If you have them, please share. If not, then you might help search for some. Collaboration could uncover something interesting. That is how ATS USED to work.

You might remove that last bit. I edited it out of my quote.

I quickly went over that paper, and it seems to me to be a solution for Fuzzy Logic in neural networks.
An example of fuzzy logic would be asking a person to turn up the heat. A person could accomplish that task easily while a computer would require specific instructions like how many degrees to turn it up.

Obvious applications would be better AI.

Vanished as in MIA working in a lab or vanished as in probably deceased?! NASA was/is the agency that seems to be... backing??? developing? much of this research. But... like I said. I'm not a math major or a physicist. So I'm not well equipped to explain or even easily understand this technical jargon. Sorry for assuming most of you could infer the meaning of phrases/understand roots.

This is another link for pattern formation and neural models (autowaves)

MIssing as in vanished. I did a thread a couple of years ago:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

In it i recount my email conversation with Li's former boss at NASA, as well as with Dr. Baker. The information is conflicting (I got two replies from Baker, each saying something different).

I was "warned" to drop it, so i did. I will happily report what i know, but i stopped researching it immediately.

Not beating him up. Asking what it means to him/her. I just assumed if he posted it he had some idea of what it was about. I have no clue and seek to understand.

Science has already advanced past this. It's just asking for a recognition system whereas the computer would be able to identify or navigate, in this case, by simple observation be it with circuits, or general navigation.

In one of the last few threads in this forum, coincidentally, I posted a comment about our latest drones here in the US now being able to fly without a satellite in space above giving them coordinates. They just see their surroundings and "know" where they are.

link to that post, here

Also see TechWolf's comments on the next page about Inertial Navigation Systems, as well. Similar.

This theory can be applied to anything dealing with robotics/drones, or even in terms of repair systems - intelligent computer being able to scan and identify parts on the ground (as another example), whereupon it would then be able to guess as to how they all should be put together, etc. Alternatively, another example could be a system that identifies a combat situation such as, "Okay, I see 2 tanks, 1 copter, and a sniper. I am located here, the objective is there. The terrain is like this. I only have these assets to work with, myself. How do I counter? What are my options?" (a complex scenario) Although, this would go into a different realms of programming including tactics, instead of just navigation such as your shared article was specifically centered around.

There are even more ways this can be used, but leaving it at that, that is the gist of how it works to the person viewing it.

Which is what I already knew.... I'm asking about the book, remember? So I'm guessing no-one read it? I only know the basics of Russian (Da, vodka.) so I'd rather not mine their boards for info.

You already knew this? I don't understand, I was answering your question in the first post, "What systems have been created since this came out based upon this?" Sorry I wasn't any help then, I guess.

I meant that in regards to other areas which the book dealt with. Neural networks that are 'wet' i.e. our brains is one good example. I've been reading this author for some time now, AI programming is something I already read... so I'm trying to learn about the 'other' applications. Sorry about that.
