Anarchists wear black and listen to rock music?

Can we please get this thread back on track. I don't really care how you feel about anarchy.

Is the anarchy accusation the new replacement for "or the terrorists win" mentality?

I think this stereotype is not new. It's just more used on election years.

As soon as the government agencies start throwing out names for groups (black bloc) and identifying them with certain dress codes or political ideologies, then you know it's a manufactured entity to portray dissent as being linked to vandals, thugs and other violent protest, usually carried out by undercover police units to justify response and looks good for the wide eyed news anchors!

Thus, peaceful protest and dissent against their rule is portrayed as a danger to society. It's just another flavour of the old divide and conquer / rule game.

Likely part of the dis info, to bring a ideology to a name in over to target...divide, infiltrate protesters -etc., on ignorance. Mostly because Black Block are said to be Psyop, or at least the Black Bloc of WTO Riots-Seattle for example.

Members of the Occupy movement say the "Black Bloc" is not about violence, but rather sticking together in one group with one uniform look and cause.

The homies and I dress in all black before we go out painting/bombing (graffiti). So I guess, maybe we should start wearing navy blue?
I'm not sure when the dress code started for this... But it seems to work.
I guess a few times though, a couple of 40oz of Olde English down and spur of the moment "lets go paint" gets us caught up in a heather grey hoodie or something.

I have to object to the insinuation that anarchy and peace are in conflict. As stated by others in previous posts, most anarchists are, necessarily, pacifists. These Black Bloc idiots are just misguided thugs with no creative outlet through which to express their frustration with society. I don't think they've seriously contemplated the guts of the philosophy they claim to espouse. Most of them are probably state plants anyway, perpetuating the illusory propaganda that anarchists are "bad people" with ideas only to be either dismissed or attacked.

Back to the point, could an anarchal society be completely free of violence and strife? Of course not, but it couldn't possibly compare to the devastation wrought by nation-states. In the 20th century alone, a period characterized by experimentation with different statist systems (communism, national socialism, etc.), the nation-state is directly responsible for the murder of well over 100 million people--and that's using "commonly accepted" figures, which are probably grossly underestimated. Anarchy and peace may not coexist in the utopian manner hoped for by many anarchists, but it should be plainly obvious that the state is utterly incapable of fostering peace.

The association of anarchy with chaos (or "anti-peace", if you will), driven by false associations perpetuated by the media and the state (as if there's a difference) is at the heart of the absurdity you've pointed out in your OP. Any stereotype that can be emphasized to discredit anarchist philosophy will of course be exploited to the fullest extent by TPTB. Black clothes=bad temperment=anarchist. Rock music=rebellious=anarchist. Creating negative associations is a powerful tool they use to keep people from seriously considering true anarchist principles.

Not that associating rock n' roll with anarchy is negative, IMHO.

I dont belive for a second that you people never labeled anyone...
That random kid in school, that random person on the train...
That random mainstream person that probably doesnt know # about the real world...

No offence to anyone, but any person with a decent intelligence knows that labelling anyone is just pure nonsence.

Apply that to any human being with a "out of the ordinary looks"...
Pff apply it to thoose with mainstream looks aswell, we label as # in theese days society...

Anarchy has more than one definition. In the United States, the term "anarchy" typically is used to refer to a society without a publicly enforced government or violently enforced political authority. When used in this sense, anarchy may or may not be intended to imply political disorder or lawlessness within a society.

I am self proclaimed Anarchist with a wish for peace, i can on and off fit into their anarchist form but my believes wont change, yes we believe in a world without government or ruler but its about how one thinks of it. I believe there should be no government, many would disagree but thats why it "should be" not it has to be, not only because its been like our main terminal for a long time and works as the base of the new generation but also because we depend on them beleive it or not..(see it as mans mistake, we were fooled into government and they planned it soo well that we became dependent of it all over the world, with no way out) overall Anarchy is just another word theyre probably trying to alter or something like "certificate".

I'm anarchist. My preferred color is khaki and my favorite is baroque chamber music. They have it all wrong.
