Dow Chemical: demand for cyanide is up

I heard this announced on Bloomberg yesterday and almost forgot to post about it. The report said essentially that Dow Chemical (DOW) had a lower than expected earnings report, but there was one bright spot, demand for cyanide is up. So ATS, who is buying cyanide and what is it being used for?

Well, what are the possible uses of cyanide:

Historically, hydrogen cyanide has been used as a chemical weapon. Cyanide and cyanide-containing compounds are used in pesticides and fumigants, plastics, electroplating, photodeveloping and mining. Dye and drug companies also use cyanides. Some industrial processes, such as iron and steel production, chemical industries and wastewater treatment can create cyanides. During water chlorination, cyanogen chloride may be produced at low levels.

And its a byproduct of water decontamination, yummy.

Pesticides and mining seem to be the biggest uses.

Oh and the NWO is probably slipping it into our foods as a part of their eugenics program.

Use of Cyanide in the Gold Industry

That is probably what would make the markets figure it's good news. I suppose it depends on where it;s being used and how well it's being contained and cleaned up after.

What do you mean "encouraging"? What did you think that cyanide might be used for?

Most of the uses are industrial.

And then theres the conspiratorial aspect...

I understand, you were disappointed to learn that cyanide wasnt used in fairy dust and love potions. Me too.
