as a believer in advanced alien life;

it is literally impossible for me to ever follow a creed like christianity.
some of it may be compatible if i wanted it to be, but to think that a god was telling our ancient people that life began here, and how the bible would imply that all spiritual things seem to revolve around earth, and as if earth is the center of the universe. (implied meaning no mention of other worlds)

i basically loose all respect toward the existence of earth known god(s)

Jesus offers more than aliens do for the moment.

Aliens offer Scifi imagination

Jesus offers moral, guidance and the higher self.

Why does it have to be Aliens? Is it so far fetched that people were abducted and experimented on by people?

I would imagine Jesus engaged his followers imagination quite actively by using parables. Imagination creates new thoughts, new ways of thinking that influence how we "evolve" over "time". Look how much of science "fiction" from the past is now a reality.

star trek can give you some great ideals for humanity

star wars a pseudo religion made from several real world ones mashed together

Jesus is an instrument of teaching morality, and higher self identity. the greater self VS the ego in real world situations.

sci fi is fun, Jesus is hard.

one is more constructive than the other.

I will try to explain better, maybe you'll see what I was getting at.

Old Science "fiction" = Doors open when you approach them automatically

Today = I go to the grocery store and the door opens as I approach. I am not thinking OMG I am in a Star Trek episode when it happens.

yes the engineers of today grew up watching star trek and invented the doors cell phones and everything else.

humanity has grown up learning from organized religion for some time and every year we have more things to be proud of. We don't descend into chaos, even though all wars are supposedly started by religion.

we have entire generations consecutively respecting law and order, and guess what was their model,

like the engineers with star trek on the living room floor watching Kirk?

I have nothing against Jesus at all. I am not a fan of Religion, however I LOVE me some Jesus!

You are seeing a struggle between "science" and "faith" from my perspective I see no difference.

Most people are idiots. I hate to one line response but facts are facts.

where you see struggle I see apples oranges and apple flavored oranges.

you can't have engineers without law and order to keep them in school and their bellies full, so they can in turn fill their minds.

all people are idiots.

the smart ones realize they are no different. at least the humble ones do, and don't punish others for their own fears and perceived loss.

some others grow from their ignorance and become great men, others stay right where they are, with the idiots

So it is the fault of our "imagination"? If not for imagination we would still be hanging out in caves. Why label something as "bad" when if not for these advances you would not be able to be sharing you views with so many lovely people.

You are in a way "demonizing" something that you in fact use to spread the message. Why see it as a "fight" between the two when in fact they are two sides of the same coin.

I do not wish to "argue" over this and derail the threads subject. I wish you the best, take care.

Then what was the point posting in this thread to say "paraphrase"

"Imagination is not as important as Jesus and his teachings." I said Jesus used imagination to engage his followers but you ignored it.

Take care

This was what I replied to. Whether you can see it or not located in these words is the underlying assumption science fiction is not useful.

I agree. You should read your words again and then go study his teaching until you get it.

if I said it, It is what I had in me, maybe you see conflict where there is nothing but creation expressing itself,

fold over fold.

I agree 100% with that. And why I took objection to an earlier statement by you. Thank you for the exchange!
