I am disappointed that Obama didn't make this a priority when he took office. It seems he had plenty of time to work on other things. He plans to get these books out to the undecided before the election. I'm glad it is available to read online. In fact, I think if he would have made these points right off the bat, there would be no competition for the position of POTUS. Can we wait til 2015/2016 for this? I don't see how. I'm off to finish reading this booklet. Here is a bit of info from his book.

abcnews.go.com...

A national goal to create 1 million new manufacturing jobs by the end of 2016:

1. Reforming the corporate tax code to bring down tax
rates – cutting tax rates on domestic manufacturers
by nearly a quarter – while closing tax preferences
and loopholes to pay for it.
2. Ending tax deductions for companies shipping jobs
overseas, and using the savings to create a new tax
credit for companies that bring jobs home.
3. Standing up for American workers and businesses in
the global marketplace, taking on China’s unfair trade
practices through a new trade enforcement unit to
level the playing field.
4. Training 2 million workers with the skills for good
jobs through new partnerships between community
colleges and employers.
5. Creating a new network of 15 to 20 manufacturing
innovation institutes to bring together business
and research universities to ensure that the
next generation of products are invented and
manufactured here.

I searched but didn't find anything on this. If dup thread, please close. Thank you.

Question is, Why did he not do this in the first place? Why did he pretty much do the opposite...? His track record with regard to small businesses is dismal at best. I've seen almost a hundred of my family friends close down their businesses due to being overly taxed and regulated.

Obama gave out so much money to failing businesses and even outsourced our tax payer money. Switching ideas with words is flip flopping, so Romney is a flip flopper. But what is Obama when he switches what he says, with the opposite through action? The Flip Flopping power ranger?

My question...were the 3.5 million, last minute 20 page begging for votes booklets, paid for with taxpayer money. I'll take our original Constitution over Obama's 20 page pamphlet any old day.

I've read through quite a bit more of the booklet. It looks like it's full of all his talking points. In fact, the identical information was presented in the debates. It is full of "inaccuracies " which have already been fact checked. I don't know why the economy was not the top priority when he took office. I think I am going to go back and watch some of his previous campaign speeches to see what exactly he was promising with the economy.

I'm only guessing here, but if I went to Barnes & Nobles to buy it, I'd have to go to the "fiction" section.

Des, I thought that as well. But look, he probably created at least two jobs to handle the making and distribution of the booklets and spent who knows how much on this little venture. I haven't been able to find the information yet and most likely won't be able to in the near future.

Even if you did, and there was any outcry over it...he'd assign Holder and the DOJ to investigate it....

If push came to shove, he'd use Executive Privilege to bury it forever......

Sorry!

And SnF for this story, OP. I'll give this booklet all the respect it deserves.

Well, I've read through most of the booklet. My opinion is that everything in it should have been addressed when he first took office. Not after four years time but at the start. He had plenty of opportunity to do so, he had the man power, he had the House and the Senate for the first two years, he had the funds…… I don’t see why he failed so miserably on these issues in his first term except he just didn't make them a priority. It’s like some of those reality shows, when a competitor fails a round and states “next time, I’m going to bring my A game”. Obama’s had a chance to bring his A game and he failed. He’s all lack luster and detached unless he’s campaigning. We don’t need a good speaker or a good campaigner or a community organizer.

Thanks for bringing this to share. As a conservative, it's nothing I would have read otherwise...and it's interesting to see.

I'd make an observation too...just a gentle one..

The OP clearly addressed undecided folks..not us who decided months ago....so heck...I kinda like the fact people like the OP are willing to brave the partisan hurricane to come by sharing much of anything dedicated to either side. Since he's made it 100% to the undecided.....Well, that makes it something to read without getting my back up, personally.

Quite frankly, when I heard about it I guess I was expecting something a little more....aggressive, exciting, something new. Everything addressed in the booklet also points to what HAS been done, which according to the booklet is quite a lot. In real life, not so much. Not that the points themselves aren't all great, they are, but they just haven't happened. If they had, we wouldn't be in the predicament we now are in.

You know what I find most odd about this election is that the news media pretty much on both sides along with the Dems(prez included) and even Mitt have not brought up the deficit that much. I feel even the words in the booklet will not help the deficit much at all.
