Personally my thoughts have always gone to thinking Iran sits on one of the most important geostrategic locations in the world, the cross roads to Europe, Africa and Asia... no wonder it has been fought over so often with such ferocity and for so long been a puppet to other nations.

Control the cross roads of the world Island (Europe, Africa and Asia) and you're one step closer to controlling the world Island and in turn the destiny of the world..

Lucidream is right in the Op, but in addtion Iran is a threat because
1. its shia majority is linking up with Iraq Shia, and the world will face irag-Iran oil reserves against the Saud
2. Iran is making trade agreements for oil outside the dollar... eg China is building super tankers for Iran oil with trade based on yuan vs Iranian currency backed by gold, not dollars
3. once oil is valued in currencies other than the dollar it will fall off the inflationary clift and the Rothschilds will lose, if they have not conquered rebels like Iran.

Well his assertions are probably quite close to the truth, however the winds in middle eastern politics change on a dime.
As far as the nuclear thing goes, think of nuclear capable countries as a group of gangsters all sitting around splitting up the loot and the nukes are there guns. Now lets say that there is a dispute about equal share of the money or oil or any resource. They all reach for their guns.....now I wouldn't want to be the guy that comes up empty handed. Iran's oil and strategic location in the Middle East as well as their optimal proximity to every other country in the region is the real reason for all the war mongering. The fact that they all have guns and HE doesn't gives them all the reason in the world to believe that they can threaten and control him. Right now Ahmedinajad is on the phone with his scientists asking- WHERE THE F@CK IS MY GUN!

He was telling me the main reason that Iran is viewed as threat by America is because if Iran gets nuclear power and eventually develop Weapons, this would jeopardize the neighboring Arab countries, who are pawns of the US.

oh but a nuclear weapon is not anything beneficial to Iran, Iran is a NPT signatory and the chief of NAM that most of them are against a Nuke, this is a suicide for Iran ! of course Iran is not after it. to show you their lies, imagine north korea it has Nuclear warhead and has threatened USA by it's Nukes many times but this is Iran that should be blamed for what no one has an evidence for it ! because they do not dare saying that they want to shut the mouth of Iran, they are after freedom of speech anyhow !!!

Most of these neighboring Arab countries do not have a political system, they do not elect anyone, this countries have been running by a "royal" family(in fact, they actually killed real royals and took over, people in middles east know this but do not talk about it). This Royal family in power due to support from US, thus, these royal families are in good relationship with US(and the benefits from each other).

Saudi Arabia the wahabists the Jihadists or the radical muslims (mother of Alghaeda), yes indeed it is the best friend of USA !!!!!! I am sorry but radicalism and terrorism has a huge growth in the middle east after sep 11. and most of them are against people not Nato soldiers !!!!

Iran being the only country to rise up with rules and laws and election in Middle east, and if they do have the nuclear power means that they would be fearless.

oh this is the big hidden truth. most people will tell you that Iran has illegitimate elections but just think how a colored revolution can take place in a dictatorship country ! so it is easy they have another presidency election the next year so we can wait and see by which percentage they will participate !

Iran getting power is bad in many ways for US. i should add this because it is important, he does think the president should be changed but he does not want what happened to Iraq.

first, it is none of his business.
second, thirty years ago (before the revolution) US would think differently, Iran was the only powerful alley of US and US had a large nuclear program for it of course for energy.
US adjusts it's policies regarding middle east totally on behalf of Israel, it does not matter who is the president, this path does not have any benefit for USA !

Iran is a threat because they want to sell their oil for other currencies other than the USD. That's it, nothing more.

The US has always been involved in Iran one way of another. We may all recall how the US and the UK had overthrown the government of Iran in 1953 and replaced them with a puppet. In present day, I don't think the US views Iran as a threat. Why? Because if they had the strength and power to take down Iran in the 1950s they could have done it now. Iran is just where they want them. Of course there are diplomatic problems here and there but if the US wanted them out, they would have taken them down.

A President? Maybe elected properly, maybe not - but certainly not the leader of the Nation.

actually their leaders are elected indirectly and supervised by what they call it "assembly of experts" which itself is elected directly by people every eight years.
it is somehow wise ! a short range executive directly elected government (presidency) and a long range strategic indirectly elected government (leadership). like my motherboard that is dual bios

mainly they chose something indigenous and dismissing capitalism and communism this is annoying for powers especially in a sensitive place like middle of middle east !

The problem between Iran and the west started in the 70's when Shah started to act independently and increased the oil production and inflated the oil prices and began to criticize American and western policies. Then in 1979 they took him down and replaced him with an Islamic regime with hopes of bringing the country on it's knees and taking it back wards at least half a century, and by the help from little Saddam and an 8 year long war they pretty much accomplished that goal......Now 33 years later leaders of Iran acting the same as the Shah did with the difference that this time they are much more powerful, independent, educated and aware and most Iranians and people of the world know that what are the real intentions of the western powers..... That's why Americans are trying to change the regime so Iran would not be able to be a role model for the Islamic mostly dictatorial puppet ruled countries in the region.....But this time is different...Iran is much more powerful and most people know what is really going on and Islam is involved in the process. The war with Iran means immediate suicide for whoever involved in it,and over throwing the regime seems impossible because most Iranians are fully behind their government although they are not really 100% agree with all their actions and policies.Fooled me once shame on you, fooled me twice shame on me. ...The naive assumption of the nuclear threat from Iran is so childishly absurd and clearly a fabricated scenario by the west to justify further aggressive actions against a peaceful country that it's only crime is to not want to be a puppet to the western blood sucking corporations and their greedy governments.
