hello bigtexan! good to see you again.

Nice breakdown of the situation!

I agree the comedy central news shows have an obvious left slant. However, their arguments usually make more sense than the sewage i hear on Fox news. And it is nice to occasionally see him go after the left.

But in the end, it is a big company cable show, and they always dance to the tune of their owners.

We will never get a fully unbiased view of the current situation on any big cable network.

You will never get a fully unbiased view of the situation because all news starts with MSM sources and trickles down throughout all other sources as various regurgitations. If there is a news story that doesn't start in the MSM, it is typically conspiracy theory.

MSM sources start their stories with a press release from a government official. This means that, in essence, the news is handed to them each day. It is still a free press....they are just free to be lazy and continue gaining any access by accepting the news as it is told to them.....not how they uncover it.

Until that dynamic is changed, all news is nothing more than variations on government releases of information.

hehe

I will admit I was trying to rile up the haters with less than factual/proven information. Guilty as charged.

But, in real life, in quiet and private conversations, I do occasionally hear race being pulled into the issue.

People wont proudly proclaim this with a microphone, but I have come across it quite often!

Have a star, I hear they are delicious!

LOL
I guess you do not understand what I said.
I said people will grasp at any straw so they do not have to admit racism. That would be why there is no mention of color here. Because his haters will attempt to use ANYTHING (as shown by this thread) so they do not have to admit what they really believe.

This is your MASSIVE assumptions of every non Obama worshipper on this thread, there is no mention of race so one can only assume there is no racist issues, yet YOU introduce colour, so it would appear you definitely have race issues as well as psychological issues when you try to demonise people as racist even though you are the only one to have mentioned race.

Most odd.

Think I will now troll the forums calling anyone who opposes Romney a racist, because he is white, even the whites, who are clearly uncle toms

Come back when your arguments mature a little

No shame at all in using the deaths of Americans as political pawns and objects to push agendas.

. Strange. The deaths of Americans should be discounted lest they be politicized. The deaths of Libyans rate military intervention though? Politicizing on the right but justified on the left? Sounds like it's more of a case of different opinions of partizan political priorities.

You can be concerned about their deaths, you can mourn their deaths, you can be angry about their deaths.

But splitting hairs arguing over semantics and if Obama said this then or that now is disrespectful to those that lost their life.

People who are doing this don't care about the people who lost their lives, they only care about trying to use this as a political tool to attempt to make Obama look bad.

Hey if Obama haters can attempt to use ANYTHING against him, no matter how illogical it is, then I believe I have the same right too. It's called freedom and it works both ways. Not just when it suits your needs.

Oh, I know race is a factor for a lot of the anti-obama crowd. Every one has varying feelings on other races, based on their own personal opinions. And since they craft our worldview, they tend to come through in our actions, even if we won't admit to it. But if stereotypes weren't true to at least some extent, not only would most comedians have no material, but I would be able to dance.

Jon Stewart asked Obama tougher questions than I have ever seen either candidate get asked in other interviews.

It wasn't really a softball interview, he asked him about the patriot act, benghazi, unemployment...it was a legit interview.

It was so legit, you will never see Romney go on The Daily Show.

HAHA!

excellent post.

I wish I could dance too

I agree though. Stereotypes exist because that certain group of people display a higher than average tendency for something than other groups. It doesn't mean everyone in that category exhibits those traits, but it is a frequent occurrence.

more childlike reasoning, no confidence in your own argument, "wah wah" what about others....stand on your own two feet man/woman and stop excusing your own poor arguments on the perceived failings of others.

Wah wah wah, anyone who hates Romney hates whites, even the self hating uncle tom whites, wah wah, blame others for this reasoning

I would respond to this, but I have no idea what you are rambling on about.

Calm down and breath. What are you trying to get across?

Here let me help you Mr. Webster....Not Optimal is a phrase typically used when describing falling slightly short of what your perfected goal was.

Watch...

We achieved a 14% increase in productivity. However, our production rate is not optimal yet. We will continue to work toward continuous optimization.

Here is the phrase you typically use when you have an abysmal failure concerning four dead US citizens...

Abysmal failure.

Had he answered the question honestly (which I've decided he is totally incapable of doing) he would have responded....When you have four dead US citizens, things aren't just not optimal, Jon, they are unacceptably broken. We failed and we have to fix it.

See how just admitting mistakes and saying "we are going to fix ourselves" works? I'm really surprised he didn't blame on it Bush.

Of course it's not optimal.

Do you think that 4 dead Americans is somehow a desired outcome?

Is Romney this bad?
You actually have to endorse dead Americans in an attempt to oppose Obama?
We all know that Tea Partiers and right wing supporters belong in their own nation of Republicanistan because they sure aren't Americans when they hope for America's downfall under Obama, but to actually find that 4 dead Americans is optimal is disgusting, man.

Absolutely not. You will actually see The Daily Show denigrated and talked down about, like it was during the Bush years.

'If four Americans get killed, it's not OPTIMAL'

He was saying it wasn't the best outcome of what was wanted in Benghazi.
The wording was odd .. but that's what he was trying to say.
Considering that the administration OUTSOURCED security for Benghazi
to locals who have traditionally had questionable loyalties .. I'd say that
the outcome in Benghazi was something that shouldn't have been a surprise.

In 7 pages, the poster above is the only person who got it right. Let's look at the source again, and this time read carefully:

Stewart asked: 'Is part of the investigation helping the communication between these divisions? 'Not just what happened in Benghazi, but what happened within.
'Because I would say, even you would admit, it was not the optimal response, at least to the American people, as far as all of us being on the same page.' Obama responded: 'Here's what I’ll say. If four Americans get killed, it’s not optimal.'

Obama responded to Stewart's assertion that the RESPONSE to what happened was not optimal by agreeing that the response was not optimal. He was not referring to the killing, but to the response in Benghazi.

Stewart criticized the response, and Obama agreed with the criticism.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming... I expect another 10 pages of outrage since everybody is completely caught up in defending or refuting the spin that is completely misleading in regards to the quote.

Erm...Obama was using Stewart's word to answer the question. I don't get the outrage?

And it's NOT optimal...

It is a really bad subject to come to the surface this close to the election,

CIA found militant links a day after Libya attack
apnews.myway.com...

The CIA station chief in Libya reported to Washington within 24 hours of last month's deadly attack on the U.S. Consulate that there was evidence it was carried out by militants, not a spontaneous mob upset about an American-made video ridiculing Islam's Prophet Muhammad, U.S. officials have told The Associated Press.

I often wonder after four years what exactly this President has done for the people on this forum, I am struggling.
