Demon haunting me and my family, please help.

I'm not one that believes in the supernatural/paranormal at all, but what happened to me last night at 3am has got me thinking otherwise.

Last night after going to the toilet, I turned the toilet light off and closed the door.

I then went to the bathroom and washed my hands, after that I came back around and noticed the toilet light had somehow turned itself back on, I was surprised and a little suspicious at this point... I thought maybe I had just left it on by accident.

I walked up to the light flicked the switch, instead of the light turning off the light went BRIGHT, like I'm talking VERY VERY bright, there was also a very loud bang that happened at the same time... Then all the lights in the house everything went dark... completely pitch black dark.

When this happened I felt so terrified, this did not feel normal in the slightest sense at all... I pretty much turned away from the toilet room door had my hands over my eyes and screamed at the top of my lungs for my mum, brothers Luke and Andrew.

The house had completely blacked out, it was so dark I could not see anything at all... It was like the darkness was darker then it should be or darker than normal.

My mum did wake up and when I heard her voice I rushed through the house in the dark straight to her, my brothers also came to me.

I was so shaken up, my mum got a torch and lit candles. We all sat around our dinner table talking and I was explaining what exactly happened. We ended up checking our fuse box to see if it was our homes fuse that had gone out, It was not our box. My brother Andrew said he also heard the loud bang and saw the very bright light creep underneath his door when it happened followed by complete darkness.

The whole street was completely pitch black dark, my street and a couple streets around it were out, it was a very isolated blackout. When I was on the street outside my house a couple of boys rode their push bikes past, I asked them "Is the power out everywhere?" One of them replied back, "nah it's just this small area". Also one said something like "the power station blew up, that's where we are going now to check it out!". That was it all 4 of them disappeared into the pitch black darkness, because at this point there was only one street light on in front of my house.

Eventually one street light came on near our house, but looking down left and right of our street it was just completely darkness. As hours went by more street lights came on. I and my brothers stayed awake until sun rise and then made our way to bed, I opened up my blinds and made sure I slept in the sun light.

This has made me so incredibly paranoid and scared I now feel broken, I was never one to believe in ANY sort of paranormal/supernatural thing... but what happened I really feel like something set me up for a very big scare.

I have always considered myself to be atheist and almost agnostic at times but I've felt that god doesn't step in enough if he exists, but a friend of mine claims that god does step in and he protects you from these evil entities(he told me this after the event).

I'm 22 oldest of my siblings, I had a sister that died who had leukemia back in 2009.

Now because I'm all scared and paranoid I have been thinking back on events that I never paid attention to:

My younger brother Luke who is 17 he has suffered from those sleep paralysis events. He says that he has a dream and it feels like when he walks into a dark room or a dark place something grabs him and he wakes up unable to move, completely paralyzed and he has to lay there trying to move for awhile. It's happened to him at least 5 times, I always just dismissed it like what the doctors say, something on the lines of that your mind is awake but your body is asleep.

My younger brother Andrew who is 13 years old said a few weeks ago he was wide awake and he heard noises that scared him very badly, he said they were like 'alien' noises and they were just all around him. At the time I completely dismissed it again assuming that it was just a bad dream or something along those lines.

Another thing that happened I believe it was some time just last week, my brother Andrew he was very mad because recently my mum reduced his computer play time hours from 7:30pm to 7pm, so when he got off his computer he went outside and was refusing to come inside at all. He was being really mad about it, he did come inside to grab his dinner though maybe around 8ish and took that straight back outside.

At around 10pm my mum was starting to get worried and told me and Luke to go outside to force him inside, I was refusing at first because I didn't feel like treating him like an animal. Mum stopped asking and went back outside to try to force him to go inside, when we went outside he was just sitting on the grass with his legs crossed it felt a bit chilly outside too he was only in shorts.

I tried to talk to him but he was completely unresponsive to anything I said, I pushed him over him and he just fell down like a 'rag doll' effect, I thought it was odd and that maybe he was pretty much just asleep or something but his eyes were open. I didn't actually think anything of it at the time, I just thought yeah he was cold very tired and that's about it.

At the time though my brother Luke did express some worry towards Andrew that something was wrong with him, I heard him say it to my mum, we didn't go into any details or anything just left it at that.

Now me being super paranoid at this point, I am thinking back that it looked like the classic possession that you see in some movies, where the person doesn't appear to be all there and they are pretty much completely unresponsive to anything you do or say, I brought this up to my brother Luke and he said at the time he did think it was like a possession but he didn't say it.

We've talked in the past me and my brothers that it seems a little like we are getting haunted but we never took it seriously, some small things would happen like noises, and some items being moved(not in front of our eyes). Like I said I didn't ever believe in the supernatural/paranormal, now I really don't know.

I'm feeling incredibly convinced what happened to me can't be a big coincidence, there's just no way... When I flicked the light switch there wasn't any delay it happened exactly and the loud noise/bang it was just so scary and the light burning so bright.

Since then I've checked the light switch, and the bulb isn't blown, I was expecting the bulb to have blown to see if the brightness was that bright light thing that I'm pretty sure light bulbs do when they blow.

I can't even be in the dark anymore, I feel I will now need to sleep forever with a light on... I've never really actually been afraid of the dark until now. I feel I have grown a very great fear of the dark.

I'm generally a logical thinker and I believe in random coincidences, but what happened to me seems too big of a coincidence to ignore.

Now I've already decided I'm not going to dare try and contact this entity, I don't want to invite it in, I want it gone.

Please ask ANY questions, I will do my best to make sure to respond to everyone.

Can someone give me advice on what I should do, even people that don't believe in this kind of stuff please try and figure out a logical explanation that doesn't go the paranormal/supernatural route if you like but very doubtful of success.

First, take a deep breath. It's a human tendency to string together a series of unrelated events into a "pattern." Now, ask yourself, "If a demon caused the electricity to go out on your entire street, does that indicate it's targeting you?" Not likely. I have never heard of a demon possessing an entire street.

Second, there are many, many possible causes for your brother's unresponsive condition. Two that spring immediately to mind are epilepsy and sleepwalking. The epilepsy explanation would also explain the sleep paralysis and "hearing voices." A genetic predisposition to epilepsy does tend to run in families, so it's entirely possible that one or more of you may have some form of it.

Third, this time of year, there are so many movies, books and other references to ghosts, possessions, etc., that it's likely to influence your thinking in that direction, even subconsciously.

Bottom line: the simplest explanation is that none of the events you described are related. Try to avoid watching scary movies or absorbing anything that is negative. Take a good long walk outside, during the day, in the fresh air -- good medicine.

That is actually one of my reasons to think it isn't paranormal, I thought that is too much power for a demon to have if they do indeed exist, I would think that if any of it is real there would be some kind of rule/law they are forced to follow by a higher power being God I would say.

Well the possession like state happened to my brother Andrew, the sleep paralysis happened to my brother Luke. Also you said "hearing voices" I haven't heard any voices nor have my brothers, my brother Andrew said he heard really strange noises and said he couldn't even possibly begin to try and mimic the noises that he heard, they were just 'alien/ufo' like he said.

This is very true, I do tend to like scary movies and such... but what happened to me felt worse then any horror movie, the feeling of being left in complete darkness after what I had witnessed. The bang/noise I heard that coincided with the very bright light, it felt violent it was like something was waiting for me to touch the light and then BANG, like it was trying to violently scare me.

I am a little worried these days, realizing the world doesn't have long until something big happens. I think we're looking at the ending of the world we are accustomed to within the next 4 years during obama's second term as president.

Salt's not hard to come by, but how do I bless it? I'm willing to do this, just really would like to know how to bless it, do you think maybe any christian could bless it?

Dude, to the point , Demons are imaginary sounds like you've scared yourself, losing your sister must have been very traumatic for the whole family and perhaps leave you are a little highly strung.

Human beings can develop a nasty habit of mistaking shadows for ghosts but never ghosts for shadows, if you respond this way to an electrical fault I dread to think how unhinged you could become if a an event hould occur that has no immediate explanation.

Tell me to naff off but it sounds like your family could do with some form of counciling at 22 you need to display a greater sense of rationality and strengh for the sake of your siblings and that will only come by ridding yourself of irrational fears. Sorry to say but as much good advice you can get here on ATS you can also end up getting your mind corrupted by the very worst types when it comes to the silly subject of demons and such IE the christians so stay far away fro them and let the god of reason light your way.

PS Do your brothers a favour and stop personally identifying them on the internet it's really not wise.

1) Dont Fear it
2) Pray to Jesus
3) Put Jesus Cross in your house
4) your house seem haunted .. did anyone died in it a long time ago ?
5) it has maybe choose you to make closure on what happened
6) research the history of your house
7) call a good local priest or a medium if you need any help

Exactly. The very bright light was caused by a power surge just prior to the electricity tanking.

This really is an object lesson, isn't it? How to experience a perfectly normal event and turn it into a supernatural happening in the blink of an eye. It's not only the OP, but the buy in from credulous people here. Sea salt?

I have seen a ghost, demons and angels. And UFOs.
You have a guardian angel, call on him/her to protect you.

Imagine a white light around you and your house. This has worked for me too.

It's not irrational, you know you do not have a protective shield, against the shadow entities.

One of them took over a man and he let a killer dog into my rabbit mansion and killed 6 of my 7 rabbits. So yeah they are nasty and they hate us. You felt their hate.

Their time is short and they are getting nastier.

The bright light could have been your angel warning off the shadow entity.
Maybe there was a war in your area and this extra energy caused the overloading of the electricity.
Just guessing.
But my angel love to whoop those demons. Ask yours to do the same.


The trouble is, these shadow entities are affecting the EM fields of people and the earth.
Get yourself an EM field detector, to cover the science bit.

It does seem odd that the power went off just as you flipped the switch. But, I've had similar things happen that had a logical explanation, and if you read my thread (link in my signature) you'll see I am a BIG believer in the paranormal. I'm not quite sure what to make of your younger brother acting the way he did. Humm.......

I believe you may be stringing things together that do not really coincide or lead to a demonic posession. It sounds like you may feeding of your own fear.

From my experience these entities work on 3 things, fear, intention and filth. If you can align two of the three correctly then you've won the battle against bad spirits or demons if you will - 1. Fear, you can have no fear, these things need US to survive and beyond that they are weak. 2. Intention - Have goodness in your heart - forgiving and loving and giving is the only way to heal the human heart and finally 3. Filth - make sure your person and your space is clean, clean the corners, clean under the bed and these things have no foothold.

Hi, if your still having problems contact your local bishop in the Roman Catholic church, you don't have to be Catholic to use their services. They have a priest in each diocese who is specially trained in this area. He will best decide how to proceed whether it be a case of just putting your mind at ease and assuring you that it is not any demonic activity, giving your family a blessing or providing further assitance etc. Good Luck.

I believe you are genuinely telling the truth. I believe that you are scared. What I do not believe is that these events are related to a demonic haunting. I think you just happened to be freaking out because the transformer blowing up was a crazy experience. Even more important, I believe there may be something effecting your brother Andrew's brain that has caused him to sort of seem lifeless AND hear things that aren't there. I would urge your little brother to go see a Doctor. Has he had any head trauma recently? Is there a history of brain cancer in your family (not saying its that)? Does he have any brain related disorders?
