very good advice.
i also forgot to mention some other techniques which do work for me; it involves training your brain specifically for it
to enhance dream recall and lucidity condition your brain to think the other way around, by counting numbers backwards or even harder learn the
alphabet backwards.
like it was said condition your brain to do reality checks, throughout the day ask yourself and check if you are awake or dreaming, i personally do it
whenever i open or walk through a doorway, found it to be the best way since it's something everyone experiences frequently.
and i became even more assured there's something to it after reading the study mentioned here to which i can't seem to find a link right now
We’ve all experienced it: The frustration of entering a room and forgetting what we were going to do. Or get. Or find. New research from
University of Notre Dame Psychology Professor Gabriel Radvansky suggests that passing through doorways is the cause of these memory lapses.
“Entering or exiting through a doorway serves as an ‘event boundary’ in the mind, which separates episodes of activity and files them away,”
Radvansky explains. Read more at: medicalxpress.com...
which is funny because since i started questioning my awake status while walking through doorways my lucid abilities have increased greatly, but i do
find myself having these memory lapses frequently.
and not only doors seem to have this "event boundary" on me, seems to happen when i have multiple internet tabs open on my browser for varied
reasons.
by the way nimbinned, what's your preferred method of starting to fly?
the running/jump style where it feels like invisible steps appear under your feet and propel you up, or the mental focus style where you just blast
off into the air straight up?
to me it feels the running method is good to fly "locally" or in your current dream, because the blast off method (which i still don't control quite
as good) sometimes makes me not only fly through the dream scenery i'm in but it can also make me change dreams and on occasion reach some very weird
places.
the best example i can give is that is similar to what happens when you manage to glitch out of the intended map in a videogame..
