The balloon has been launched.

A-Okay so far.

Felix is currently ascending through the jetstream. He has just passed altitude 40,000 feet and is travelling at a groundspeed of 100 mph.

They showed a picture of his mother, Eva. I noticed that she was wearing a "green alien" ring. I wonder if that is a souvenir from the Roswell UFO Museum?

they said there was a problem with the heat in the capsule and after that Felix hasnt spoken again. Some pointed out that they only show old footage of him inside... lets see where this goes...

The balloon has now risen above 102,800 feet altitude, the previous record for free dive from a balloon in 1960.

No word on the troubleshooting for the faceplate heater (prevents fogging on the faceplate).

Note: I've noticed that the balloon speed of ascent is dropping quite a bit now. Down from 1000 fpm to about 780 fpm.

Balloon was supposed to level off right about now but the rate of ascent is only increasing.. They are trying to let out some helium to level off the ascent for the jump. Balloon just kept going up and up instead of leveling off...

That was amazing! Now we need to wait and see if there will be any side effects. :/ let's hope he will be alright!

Or maybe it was just an extreme stunt whose primary purpose was to advertise Red Bull energy drinks (not that there's anything wrong with that).
