Mrs. Obama: ‘Barack Has Done a Phenomenal Job Working Around a Congress...’

Oh...Michelle...You are absolutely correct!! I actually agree with her. Her husband has done a swell job of circumventing our constitution, and picking and choosing which laws he wants to follow and which laws he wants to ignore. Good Job Lil' Buddy

“[Y]ou can have a president you love, but if you don’t have a Congress that’s willing to work, you know, you wind up stalled in so many ways,” First Lady Michelle Obama said Wednesday on Tom Joyner’s radio program.

“And I think that Barack has done a phenomenal job working around a Congress that has never been willing to help move the country forward on so many different issues,” she said.

Could someone please tell her how our govt is supposed to work... tell her how elected leaders are actually supposed to lead... Barack is not royalty nor has he been anointed by anyone other than the media therefore, the onus is on him to extend the hand and the olive branch. Locking out Republicans is no way to get the job done. Obama wasted his first two years rushing his healthcare plan through the ranks before the tide was to change against him. During that time he turned a blind eye to everything else in our nation.

What does she mean by saying this?

“As we’ve seen over the past several years, I mean not just the past four years, but for the past decade, you know, who’s in the White House determines so much about how our country looks,” Mrs. Obama said.

What?? Is this whole gig just about keeping up appearances and taking the lead in the dog and pony show... Does an Obama in the White House make us look cool?? It sure hasn't helped in the Middle East and Northern Africa... We need substance in the White House, We need a President with a Moral Compass... Obama's great smile, cocky swagger and classic wink only got him through the door.... all else has failed.. Shameful...

She is very correct, she need not say more. Hopefully its a majority of democrats in the senate when OBama is reelected, so he can get some of the most important bills passed.

Hopefully people with an IQ below .03 and those who are extremely and viscously racists would understand this…but that’s not going to happen.

Let's see, if he has a majority of Democrats in the Senate, and he is re-elected... That would be just what we have now.
If he is re-elected, and the House ends up with a Democrat majority, then we would be back to what Obama had to work with in the first two years of his first term.... where he got nothing done.

I agree with you that his working around congress is immoral, but let's face the facts: our congressmen are worthless. This doesn't make Obama a good leader, quite frankly he's awful. There is something to be said, however, for a congress that is unwilling to actually help the American people.

The OP spoke in a less than positive manner about the President.
The President is black.
Ergo, any negative statements about Obama makes the writer a racist.

She is right, but, and this is a big but:

It is not the congress's job to get on their knees for the dictator in chief goes back to how the government was set up checks and balances.

Not cutting all the checks and leave us with the trouble of paying the balance.

The simple facts should set that post straight... The only thing on Obama's agenda was Obamacare during his first two glory years. The economy took a back seat to the pressure placed on Obama to pass his healthcare bill before the midterm upheaval.

Excuses, excuses! That is all they know how to do....blame somebody else. I will be so glad when King and Queen Obama are out. Congress is THE PEOPLE'S HOUSE and they are there to represent their constituents. A real leader knows how to work through the arguments and roadblocks and help get the people's work done. The Obamas just whine, complain, and blame....then go on another vacation or play another round of golf. I, for one, am sick of them.

And the repeal of the filibuster rule.

The upper house has the clear constitutional authority to end the filibuster by simple majority vote on any day it chooses.
