We have covered a great deal of highly questionable smartphone software, as well as the fact that current software can easily be leveraged as a surveillance tool and games have even been created which use “soft control” to encourage citizen spying.

New technologies are going to make ultra-precise location information the norm which is especially troubling since our government claims that such data is not protected by the Constitution.

Mobile companies are bowing to the pressures of government and allowing the interjection of software onto smart phones. This software will allow agencies to build up images in 3D of the targets surroundings.

It reminds me of a system they are working on in the UK in which they want to build up 3D picutures of reality from the signal sent to your mobile phone. Once that is mastered they will have total observational control of 3D space in the present and past..

With all the surveillance we get these days. Do we really need any more. Kind of makes me want to get rid of my smart phone. Government should be there to protect and serve us. Not to spy on us and make us all paranoid...

What is the point of all this?
In this day and age, practically everyone already knows that the government can, and will, remotely access a smartphone for the purposes of call / message interception and location logging. Accordingly, any bad guys or activists meeting others to plan something will simply leave the smartphone at home. A low-tech way to thwart the increasing creep of monitoring!
Even at protests or other events, leaving the smart "connected" stuff at home will mean they can't track you or place you at the event.
Of course, personally I am not bothered about being seen and filmed at any such event, if I chose to attend one, unlike the cowardly police agent provocateurs who insist on being masked!

It does make me laugh though that if we subjected the politcians to these levels of tracking and surveillance, they'd soon cry foul and have us arrested.

There is no evidence that the mobile phone companies "allowed" this to happen, other than not specifically preventing this malware, which didn't exist at the time the phones were manufactured, from accessing the camera function. It sounds more like these folks reverse engineered the phones to figure out how to hack the cameras.

There is also no proof that this new app allegedly developed by the Naval Surface Warfare Center even exists at this point. It's just their word...could very likely be disinfo planted in the MSM for whatever reason... let's see a lab demo.

This sounds like AGI - Artificial Global Intelligence project.
With new technologies like nano carbon tubes, etc, it will become an all present sensor grid of planetary proportions, and more than that.
Consequences are more than obvious.
