Why can we see so far, yet not so close???

I was just looking at the Hubble Telescope XDF (extra deep field) and i wonder to myself why can we see light that has been travelling for billions of years and see almost back to the Big Bang, and not see an actual planet thats say only 30 light years away? How come we can detect a wobble of a star on its axis from the gravitational tug of its orbiting bodies, but cant seem to see the planet? I know how that is done and all but the only really "HD" looking pictures of our own planets have to come from passing satellites.... why cant they work on something closer?

anyway people say that we do not have strong enough telescopes and that our satelites are not equiped to do that and the deep space telescopes are not looking or going that direction. Excuses. What is up there "they" do not want us to see?

I'm with you, why can we see wayyyy out into space but not extreme close up shots of the moon and nearby planets? Its fustrating.

I think the 20 post rule is stupid. Newbies post one word lines all the time that give nothing to a post just to reach it. And destineyone seems very rude!

Sorry you think I'm rude. I'm politely letting a new member know, their intro thread can be closed by a MOD if there is no intro material in it. The 20 post rule has closed many an intro thread, for not being an actual intro. While keeping on topic, *an introduction* in the introduction forum, can keep that from happening. Maybe you should have a little brush-up on the criteria for an intro thread.
