DVD Players

Hello, Sorry to be boring but does anybody know how or where to find informion on how to unlock regions in a DVD Player...?

Hey Boom...welcome to ATS

Just to let you know that my dad is a TV engineer and he says that it is almost impossible to unlock regions unless you have the codes to the microchip that deals with the regional settings!

I think the best thing would be to just search the net for sites that deal with TV/Video/DVD faults.

Or...next time..get a multi-region?

It's for my little brother I've bought him a DVD player and he got some DVD's from the US and they don't play.

He thinks I've got him a dodgy player...!

The problem is simple!

America is Region One..while we are Region 2

You do get Multiplayers which play both and i think the best make is either Sony or Sanyo.

Slow down, I have nothing against americans, at all. Very nice place, very nice people. Been a few time, love it. I just thought that this was a site used by a lot of americans. Thats why I used it to enquire about the DVD's and regions.

i was suprised to see some body was from Scotland. Maybe I'm ignorant, I've never used a chat site before, I'm new to all this.

Where are you from. I have an uncle that lives in Clearwater.

actually, google your model of DVD player and dig through all the hits. also search google groups. my DVD player had a secret option built in to unlock all region codes. it wasn't in the manual anywhere, but I searched my model online and it came up. good luck!
