Foxconn plant closed in China after workers brawl

ca.news.yahoo.com

A Foxconn factory in China, which assembles Apple's iPhones, has shut down for an indeterminate period after about 2,000 workers were involved in a brawl at a dormitory.
The plant was closed Monday and it is not clear how long the shutdown will last.
Foxconn said the trouble started with a personal fight that blew up into a brawl.
But some people said they had heard factory guards had beaten workers, sparking the uproar. These accounts could not be independently verified.
The unrest is the latest in a string of incidents at plants run by Foxconn. The company has faced accusations of poor

This is nuts! I wonder how this will affect the minds of those who support Apple and their products now? Chinese workers working in horrible conditions, slave wages, long hours, security beating up on workers. Another reason to go on strike and boycott. I'm not very impressed Apple. I will blend up your iphones into a pile and ship it to the Apple head office. This is what I think of your products. The map app doesn't even work right on the new iphone 5.

In all do respect I support my Samsung Galaxy S2. NOT S3. I don't give a crap about it. Not worth the extra 150 bucks. I might just even switch back to a flip phone. Does what it's supposed to do.

Hadn't this been reported earlier as a protest of some sort?

I can't help but consider revisionism at work.

But I suppose anythings possible when we get our news through press releases.

They should stop making iPhones just in time for American holidays.

The reaction of consumers would be more than hilarious if they find out there weren't any kewl kheeeww phonez.

Silly slaves.

I wonder if people ever stop to think that the item they carry around every day, who form their lives around the little device... was built by slaves, paid a poor wage, fed gruel and made to live in a "dormitory."
