Intelligence chairman doubts Libya attack linked to video

The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee said Sunday there's no proof indicating this month's consulate attack in Libya – which killed a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans – was related to protests over an anti-Islam video.

"I have seen no information that shows that there was a protest going on as you have seen around any other embassy at the time. It was clearly designed to be an attack," Rep. Mike Rogers said on CNN's "State of the Union."

Can't let the public think that the administration was caught flatfooted. Of course it was because of some youtube video. This is a private citizen's fault.

It's a pretty BIG lie.

And of course, it's working.

And let's not also forget it's more than just a political lie when the youtube video creator gets jacked-up in the middle of the night by the federal government.

The fact you and others can so easily dismiss it, assists in the inevitable demise of everything we think we stand for in this country.

Of course this attack could have been against the CIA network we have in that country. Officials in Libya were not too happy to find just how vast a network the CIA had in that country after the fall of Gaddafi. Imo it just just more blowback.

Obama can't admit that his foreign policy is a failure. So he and his administration will play the "video" card for as long as they can, or until November 6th, whichever comes first.

If the demise is inevitable, than it requires no assistance. I am just not surprised by it, retaining power and control over others is basic human nature.

Amazingly, Obama has doubled down on his claim to blame the video on the floor of UN today.

He called the video disgusting and I call this rant on the UN floor disgusting

During his address to the United Nations today in New York City, President Obama again blamed violent Islamic riots in the Middle East on a video....six times.

In every country, there are those who find different religious beliefs threatening; in every culture, those who love freedom for themselves must ask how much they are willing to tolerate freedom for others.

That is what we saw play out the last two weeks, as a crude and disgusting video sparked outrage throughout the Muslim world. I have made it clear that the United States government had nothing to do with this video, and I believe its message must be rejected by all who respect our common humanity.

The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.

That "video" has been used as a scapegoat for the Obama administration in an effort to distract away from failed policies in the Middle East and with proponents of violent Jihad. Obama also refused to call the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya a terrorist attack, he didn't say the word terrorism once during his address, directly contradicting White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and National Counterterrorism Center Director Matthew Olson.
