"Grenade" explodes after being thrown from pitch during Iran football match.

Of course it might be a firecracker of some sort looking like a grenade but that would have totally wrecked that man's hand.

During an Asian Champions League quarter-final between Iran's Sepahan and Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia, an object was thrown onto the pitch a few feet away from players and officials. Reports suggested that it was a grenade or firecracker. Sepahan midfielder Adel Kolahkaj, seemingly unaware of the danger posed, picked up the object and casually threw it off the field, where it exploded on hitting the ground. Fortunately no-one was injured in the blast. The game ended 0-0
