Halliburton, a company once run by Vice-President Dick Cheney, is under scrutiny once again. The US government has agreed to an inquiry into
Halliburton's Iraq contracts. These contracts have been in question by the International Advisory Monitoring Board, a UN group monitoring the use of
Iraq's resources.

The US government will set up an inquiry into the no-bid Iraq contracts given to Halliburton, the company once run by Vice President Dick Cheney.
The move is the latest embarrassment for the firm, which faces losing its Iraq contracts with the US Army.

Although Halliburton has denied these alligations, the audit will investigate the extent of the no-bid contracts. The accountants seemed concerned
with the recording of cash receipts and oil export revenue. Mr. Cheney ran this company from 1995-2000. Halliburton's involvement has become a
major issue for the 2004 Presidential elections to be held on November 2.
