There is something wrong with our police force here in the UK and possibly elsewhere.

It is a well known issue that the police look after their own and that they have a nasty habbit of bringing down anyone who stands in their way or who has the upper hand. Perhaps it is this that has lead to the situations we now currently face.

A couple of cases have risen up that have shown just how corrupt and two faced the police (and various other agencies, including the government and medis) can be in order to keep order according to their rules.

Firslty, we have what has to be the largest amount of police officers (I'm mainly directing this at the police as other departments and agencies are involved but that's another focus point) to ever be involved in a major cover up. With over 150 police statements changed in order to bring blame onto others, the hillsborough disaster, where 96 civilians died in a terrible, tragic event, has to be the worst crime of its kind. For the full details of this horrific day and the chain of events that lead to a 23 year cover up please read this thread;
Hillsborough files released

There are now many people involved in the journey to bring justice to those who feel they are above the law by bending it to suit themselves. This is going to be a big battle and one that may take years to complete.

Meanwhile, a new battle has just begun in the wake of the London G20 protests. Another officer has been sacked and has apologised for the death of Ian Tomlinson. we've all seen the video.. we all know the story.. So why has this officer got away scott free?? The public want answers and they want more than what has been dished out to this officer.

A police officer cleared of killing Ian Tomlinson at London's G20 protests has been sacked with immediate effect after being found guilty of gross misconduct.

PC Simon Harwood was earlier found guilty of breaching standards by a Metropolitan police disciplinary panel.

But the panel decided it will not consider whether or not the officer's actions caused or contributed to Mr Tomlinson's death in 2009.

Mr Tomlinson's widow walked out of the hearing, calling it a "whitewash".

www.bbc.co.uk...

In light of the hillsborough files being released and with this new case of police misconduct, I find this comment laughable..

Commander Julian Bennett, chairman of the panel, said PC Harwood's actions "have discredited the police service and undermined public confidence in it".
From the same BBC report.

If they think that this one event has led to a lack of confidence in the police, well, you're a bit late for that.. Many have felt victimised by the force for many years, they've felt watched, spied upon, and cheated. The force is now more of a money spinning programme with speed cameras and traps all over the UK, CCTV does most of the work and even when that is used as evidence it is mostly thrown out of court for lack of clarity in the video or leaving reasonablee doubt as to who the criminals are.. A lack of confidence has been brought upon the police by the police over a long period of time and it now seems they may be facing a major shake up that will not only upset the police but the public too.

"If I were standing, I'd pledge to clean up the dog poo and Taser groups of three or more teenagers on sight," quipped the world-weary member of a police authority I met at a conference.

"I'd be a shoo-in. They'd all vote for me because these elections are about what's popular - not necessarily what is right."

He was being deliberately absurd - but the point behind it gets right to the heart of the biggest shake-up in British policing for decades: Your vote may redefine how the police keep your community safe.

www.bbc.co.uk...

What the ehck is this? You want us to vote on who becomes a PCC? Where did this come from? It's the first I've heard of it. How can this suddenly appear out of nowhere when there has, as far as I can tell, been no public messages or question sheet popped through our doors.. no surveys carried out, no publicised government debates?

Who is pulling the strings here?

Police authorities, long derided as invisible will be replaced by elected police and crime commissioners. The Whitehall targets on how to fight crime will be replaced by a political mandate from the local electorate.

The PCC will be responsible for hiring - and potentially firing - the chief constable. He or she will set the policing budget and could increase the amount raised locally.

Who gets to stand to be voted in? how are they selected? Will it be the local businessmen with loads of money who dodge taxes but line the right pockets? will it be organised criminal groups who just happen to have a couple of judges and high ranking officers in their pockets who get to be voted in? Or will it be local government officials who are in everyones pockets who nobody really cares to vote for in the general elections.. ??

Something twisted this way comes..

On top of all that there is the idea that the police force may be being desrtroyed in order to replace it with private police/security forces. This would be a tragedy!!! These private forces would be more concerned about profits than upholding the law and punishing the guilty.. many innocent will be in fear of being incarcerated for something they did not do... All in the name of profits..
Surrey Police scrap plans for partial privatisation
Plans for G4S police station in Lincolnshire put on hold

There was trouble at the London Olympics.. trouble came from G4S.. group 4 security.. Money grabbing greedy swines.. The army were called in to cover the shortfall in staff, yet G4S still wanted to be paid the full amount.
Security firm G4S expects full Olympic Games payment

I feel the general public are under threat.. under threat from a corrupted, broken police force that has a history of covering things up and making the public look like the guilty party. Under threat from an unknown group who wish to control everything by using private police/security forces which, by far, is worse than the existing police force. Profits will come before the law.. the innocent will suffer and pay the costs with fines and/or imprisonment.

somebody, somewhere, knows too well what is going on and is designing the collapse of the most historic and longest running police force on Earth. Cuts have been made to the police, so they have less staff and this is why they are unable to cover such events as the London riots properly. The force knows the public outnumber them and fear us turning on them.
G4S-run Wolds Prison has clear weaknesses, inspectors find

a private security force will not think twice.. they may very likely have the "business ethics" in place where the use of violence will be authorised. In court, this would be completely different from the evidence a police officer would give, even if it is corrupted.

The lesser of two evils has to be the police force..

And how about militarization? Police basically wearing riot gear because violence could happen. Oh and g4s used to supply guards for our nuclear plant. Guards with m16 full auto assault rifles. Do they still work nuclear plant security? Do they own a bunch of full auto weaponry? Hmmmmm

Good point and one of the things iwas 'aiming' at..

weaponised private security forces may end up with the ability to use 'force' as and when they see fit.

It only takes the wrong people to get hired by these firms.. the wrong types of checks on new recruits.. mistakes to be made.. no real fear of the law as the 'company' will protect the staff.. or just wipe their hands of the staff and let them fall into the hands of the law if anything bad did happen, thereby allowing the security firm to carry on regardless..

Oh! It's the same in Canada. Check this out That's not talking about The Toronto G-20. This is th Press For Truth video. Unfortunatly this is all over the world. Something needs to be done. What...I have no clue. But police and armed forces can retaliate through non-compliances, but again, unfortunatly those police officers and armed forces have no idea that they're paving the way for major dictator ships in their respective country. Militarizing police. Using miliitary officers to back up police. Warantless searches. In Canada Bill C-36, they have the equivalent in the US, the Consumer Product safety act. It hasn't been put in effect yet but when it does it'll make it illegal to grow your own garden. And of course agenda 21. Now, couple that with the un-necessary brutality and the mounting life threatning induries and deaths caused by police officer, and you have the perfect tool to grind the peoples morales into the ground.

Oddly, a sad event has just occurred.

Two police officers have been killed.

shots were fired and even a hand grenade was used.

Two unarmed female police officers have been killed in a gun and grenade attack in Greater Manchester, which led to the arrest of a wanted man.

PC Nicola Hughes, 23, and PC Fiona Bone, 32, were called to Abbey Gardens in Mottram to investigate what turned out to be a false report of a burglary.

Police said it appeared they had been deliberately "drawn" to the scene.

Dale Cregan, 29, has been arrested in connection with the officers' deaths and two previous murders.

www.bbc.co.uk...

Were they set up? Were they really set up by the guy they have in custody right now?

The attacks have prompted widespread condemnation and shock, with the killings also reopening a debate over whether police should be armed.

www.bbc.co.uk...

If we all paid as much attention to every other murdered person as we are doing with these two women, we might ctually do a lot better in preventing this sort of thing from happening in the first place. It just boggles me as to why such massive attention is given to those who 'die in the line of duty'..

Military personnel get less than this..
murdered innocents get less than this..

And we're expected to go along with the flow of "poor them" after the Hillsborough files have just been released?

Has this entire situation been created to give the public a sense of empathy for the police in general in order to make them look worthwhile?

There are now calls for the police to be armed.. and also for the death penalty to be brought back..

Are they serious!!!

Should this happen, only for the police to be shut down and private security firms take over.. we'll be in a whole heap of trouble and those with the intent will arm themselves even more...

This could lead to a very dark period for the UK, should this sort of thing continue. Many are saying we cannot have armed police due to the many innocents who have been shot and killed by trained officers in the past. The fear of trigger happy or nervous officers is not one to contemplate too deeply. Apparently, in the US, Miami, there was a real gun fight, and people stood and watched others getting shot and killed.. they thought they were watching a scene being made for miami vice..

In the UK, the death penalty usually meant hanging by the neck. And yes, many have been hung then found to be not guilty afterwards. One famous case was that of 10 rillington place..

The case generated much controversy and is acknowledged as a major miscarriage of justice. Along with those of Derek Bentley and Ruth Ellis, it played a major part in the abolition of capital punishment in the United Kingdom in 1965.

en.wikipedia.org...

Bringing back the death penalty for those who kill police officers should be considered, Conservative peer Lord Tebbit has said.

www.bbc.co.uk...

Sir Hugh Orde, president of the Association of Chief Police Officers, has ruled out arming officers after the killing of two women constables.

www.bbc.co.uk...

As much as it is always a sad and tragic loss of life.. i think the focus and attention is always in the wrong direction..

G4S or GAS for short.. has had its toes trodden on today..

looks like they're a bit miffed they have not got their own way..

A plan by three police forces to outsource services to a private firm has collapsed after Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) rejected it.

Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire forces were looking at contracting G4S to provide joint IT and human resources.

Three PCCs have pulled out of the plan, although G4S already provides support services for Lincolnshire Police.

The forces intend to increase collaboration. G4S is yet to comment.

BBC East home affairs correspondent Sally Chidzoy said: "It's likely to safeguard a number of local jobs as the three forces are now looking to increase their collaboration."

www.bbc.co.uk...

But hold on... safeguard of jobs? Didn't the police force recently drop its starting pay by 4K? Weren't many long termers sent for early retirement?

And just who is going to listen to a private security firm when it comes to enforcing the law?
Will GAS be getting their own police uniforms in order to look the part so that we bend easily to what they say?

Every time i see the G4S logo, it looks like GAS and as it's a private security firm, I can not help but bring up images of WW2 camps in my mind...
