In a first, Indian tank brigades to defend China border

The army’s defences on the China border will get a major offensive boost with the impending deployment of two tank brigades, one each in Ladakh and north-east India. This is the first time that India will deploy armoured formations on the China border. Such formations, equipped with main battle tanks and BMP-II infantry combat vehicles, are traditionally used for striking into enemy territory.

The decision to deploy tanks to beef up India’s light, mountain infantry divisions was taken due to doctrinal changes in China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA). The PLA has deployed armoured and motorised formations in both their military regions across the Line of Actual Control, as the de facto Sino-Indian border is called. According to the International Institute of Strategic Studies, Lanzhou Military Region, which faces Ladakh, has 220,000 PLA troops, including an armoured division and two motorised infantry divisions (a division has three brigades). The Chengdu Military Region, opposite India’s north-eastern states, has some 180,000 PLA troops, including two armoured brigades and four motorised infantry divisions.

You have to have Tic for Tac. 180,000 troops moving to your border, you have to show some posturing.

I'll claim ignorant, because I don't know how Indians and Chinese fair with eachother but neighbours with such large borders must have mutual respect/trade, especially when bordering China!

China and India are both in the BRICS. They get along well.

The CIA tries to use that old fool, the Dalai Lama to drive a wedge between the two friends but it has not worked.

Your title mislead me I believe. Are the Indians defending against china?

It wasn't that long ago that Pakistan and China said that they were now buddies and that China would defend Pakistan if attacked.
It seems like this powder keg is getting closer to going off.

Are yu forgetting the Chinese and Indians have already fought a war over these borders?
They get along because they are both not ready to fight each other, but they will......
China an India have population pressures that cannt be understated......war there is INEVITABLE......
The massive troop buildup by the chinese indicates to me anyways ,that they are getting ready to invade yet again.......

The china/India relationship is a funny one
On one hand they are neighbours and partners in many things .........but..........china is MUCH closer with Pakistan............and I'm sure I don't need to go over the India/Pakistan relationship !

India and China have had their issues in the past. They both bolster enormous populations. China still has the edge militarily, but India recently just tested its new missile to show China it can hit it from anywhere. From a US military perspective they would be a great counter to the sheer numbers China has.

I have a feeling if China is about to go on its territory grab that India isnt just going to sit and watch it happen.

That's not true just because they are in BRICS doesn't make them friends. They've fought wars over territory just like Russia and China have . They are only friends for strategic advantage, but bad blood always boils to the top again.

They DO NOT get along quite well.India has been furious at China for its cooperationg with India's arch foe-Pakistan. Just earlier this summer India test fired a nuclear capable missile designed to strike specifically at the heart land of China.

India are part of the Commonwealth (NWO) therefore they are a part of Britain (NWO)..

This would make India a tool for the Britain (NWO)..

We know that America (NWO) and Britain (NWO) work hand in hand so its not too hard to guess who India would end up representing..
