Voter�s Contract With America

Our country is founded upon the principles of Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.
These goals are achievable only if we the people desire them to be so.

I hereby swear that I will vote for those people who promise to approve a balanced budget only.
I hereby swear that I will place the interests of the citizen, above that of the government.
I hereby demand unbiased and equal coverage of all candidates for political office who:
A) Support a balanced budget
B) Support Civil Liberties
C) Are on my state Ballot

I will not support, nor vote for, any candidate regardless of party affiliation, if they do not agree to abide by the terms set forth above.

I will not support, nor vote for, any candidate regardless of party affiliation, if they do not agree to debate all eligible candidates which meet the requirements above.

I recognize it is my duty as a citizen to find and vote for a candidate who will adhere to the preceding principles.

I also agree that any officeholder who violates these terms should be recalled from office.

I will promote this idea to my fellow citizens in order to form a more perfect union.

A) I would support this only by cutting government....not raising taxes. Goodbye PBS, NEA, foodstamps, welfare. Be prepared for some pissed off liberals.
B) Equal rights for all...special rights for no one...affirmitive action would have to go, no quotas, and no special rights for gays i.e. marriage. Jessie Jackson, the NOW gang, and gay leaders would be put out of business!
C) We have a free media in this country, you cannot constitutionally make a free media be fair, only the market can do that.

As for the rest of the liberal blowhards who claim to be something their not, well they can eat # too... I'm so sick of seeing these worthless ninnies on the news, I don't know if their on so we can make fun of them or if it's supposed to be in all seriousness, but I for one don't take these clowns serious, it's a waste of my time, they could be covering more important issues and interviewing more intelligent, logical, and unbiased people...

But no, see, media isn't about that... The dumbed down society gets, the better...

I guess thank the heaven's for liberals... At least when the people get dumbed down enough the liberals are there to whisk them away and bring them back up again....

I read too quickly over the subject line where I read 'Contract with America' only to then read the 'voters' part. For a second there, Truelies, I thought you were going to talk about, being it's roughly 10yr anniversary, the merits and success of the actual 'Contract with America', started by the GOP some ten years ago. Was that a plan, or what!

I like the LP party. I think if they tweaked their policies a little they could become quite successful. But, as carseller is saying, it's a wee bit hypocritical regarding the coverage part. On one hand they love a free market but on the other they don't like the current media market. - or am I not reading that right?

And balanced budgets are overrated. It's a great talking point for the opposition when the budget isn't balanced now, nor are they really ever.
