I always wonder if people realise that TV networks purposefully play infomercials at night because of people that sleep with the television on.

Yah, but how many people pick up the phone and read their credit card numbers in their sleep? I thought that is when the lonely exes with all those bon bons and fat credit cards are awake to sell stuff too?
In any case OP, I always sleep to the infomercials. Well not really... what I do is turn on a show to drown out the freeway noise and I wake up frustrated because no matter how hard I try I just can't seem to stop vacuuming.
When I focus, there it is; an Orotech infomercial sucking out my brains.

I'm one of those people that needs a little background static to get to sleep. Otherwise my mind keeps multi-tasking on what I need to get done the next day.

Ive tryed both with and without the TV on and Ive noticed if i leave the TV running i get woken up by bright flashes on screen and i think the TV constantly stimulates the brain while in use..
I prefer the room to be somewhat dark allowing a little light to sneak in this lets my eyes rest and my brain to wind down..
Images and light from the screen i would think send it to the brain, forcing it to work and translate the incoming information.(mind over matter) is what i call it..peace,sugarcookie1
