HA then your worst fear has been realized because i encounter those little a-holes a few times a month, the camel spider is by far the most insane spider because never in my life have i had every single one i tried to take a picture of immediately charge, if you go up to it and look at it and you are not outside where it thinks it is hiding, they will go after you and it is the weirdest thing because they literally stretch their little arms out at you as their charging. NOT FUN, we got them here in Las Vegas thanks to our local AFB.

I once caught a little baby camel spider crawling across my barracks room floor.

It was way too small to have been brought back on the plane. There is a breeding momma somewhere around here.

Why do I keep clicking these threads? My skin is crawling wickedly right now. I hate spiders! I think ATS needs an off-topic "Spider Pics" forum with a disclaimer, "Are you sure you want this?" before opening the page.

If someone didn't mention it by now, these are ground dwellers. Not all spiders make HUGE webs not all spiders make webs at all.

These kinds of spiders do not bite. They do however get rid of a lot of harmful pests.

I was more tolerant of Spiders, to be fair, when I lived in California. There was only one spider there I had to worry about. The Black Widow..and contrary to it's downright evil reputation, it's not near as dangerous as it's made out to be. Oh, it's a nasty time, to be sure...but I found worse. It took the Brown Recluse for me to come to hate spiders so passionately......well, it's a near religion.

Huntsman spider? Maybe displaced Brazilian wandering spider: Leg Span of 15 cm. I've seen these come into the US in boxes of bananas.

here is the largest Web weaving spider in the world and yours is nothing like this Banana spider. Yours is surely a normal garden spider, we have a ton of them, I am in N. Ca. They are large

I say live and let live. If the spider is not causing any issues then leave it be. The poor thing is helping by killing the flying insects around your apartment.

Don't worry people. I am not going to kill or otherwise disturb the spider.

As someone said earlier, they are awesome predators. And I enjoy watching them do their thing.
