Statistics are used by Western Governments to justify their blatant pandering to minorities. Do-gooders and useful idiots are presented with statistics and told that the solution is to spend taxpayer money giving special treatment to minorities. Do-gooders and useful idiots are told that spending taxpayer money to protect the helpess minority is the 'right' thing to do. Do-gooders and useful idiots want to do the 'right' thing so they agree. Spending taxpayer money on minorities is called 'Affirmative Action'.

en.wikipedia.org...

Affirmative action refers to policies that take factors including "race, colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or national origin"[1] into consideration in order to benefit an underrepresented group "in areas of employment, education, and business",[2] usually justified as countering the effects of a history of discrimination.

We now have 'discrimination' laws and policies that give special treament to minorities all across the West. Western Governments can no longer afford to waste taxpayer money giving special treatment to the en-vougue minorities. We also cannot afford to be wasting valuable time and resources on non-issues such as 'gay marriage'. As Nader would say, this stuff is 'gonad politics'. There are more important issues facing Western nations like our economies for example.

I think that it is clear that 'Affirmative Action' has failed. Western Governments have wasted untold amounts of taxpayer money for very little gain. When is enough enough?

When arbitrary numerical "goals" or "quotas" under affirmative action are not met, the burden of proof is put on the employer to prove that he did not discriminate against minorities or women. No burden of proof whatever is put on the advocates of "goals" or "quotas" to show that people would be equally represented in jobs, colleges or anywhere else in the absence of discrimination.

Tons of evidence from countries around the world, and over centuries of history, show that statistical disparities are the rule, not the exception-- even in situations where discrimination is virtually impossible.

Anonymously graded tests do not show the same results from one group to another. In many countries there are minorities who completely outperform members of the majority population, whether in education, in the economy or in sports, even when there is no way that they can discriminate against the majority.

Putting the burden of proof on everybody except yourself is a slick political ploy. The time is long overdue for the voting public to see through it.

Thomas Sowell has written a book about the massive cost of the 'Affirmative Action' experiment. Another significant opinion to consider on 'Affirmative Action' is conservative judge Clarence Thomas. Clarence Thomas is against 'Affirmative Action' and one of the reasons is that he feels it devalues accomplishments. He had help at Yale from an 'Affirmative Action' type scheme and now he feels that his accomplishments can be questioned because he got help that others did not recieve. Malcolm X is another noteable figure that was against 'Affirmative Action' or 'Compensatory Action'

Malcolm X: Because the Negro didn’t make the gain. See, as long as someone is giving you something, he can always take it back. And this is the mistake where…this is where our people are making the mistake. We are sitting, waiting for Whites…

Morrison: Nobody…

Malcolm X: …I don’t mean it in that sense, either in court or out of court. We’ve been sitting and waiting for “The Man” to give us some concessions. Now whenever you ask the…if you’re asking the White power structure for jobs, that’s only a temporary solution. If you ask the White power structure for housing, that’s a temporary solution. As Mr. Farmer said where the Negro used to ask for equality, now he’s asking for more…he’s asking for more than equality. Well, likewise, if they give us more than equality, ten years from now we’re going to be asking for more than that because the problem has still not gotten a real solution.

It is time for the left to admit that 'Affirmative Action' does not work. 'Affirmative Action' never worked. 'Affirmative Action' will never work. 'Affirmative Action' is racist.

The solution is the 'Colour Blind' approach. Some sensible nations make 'Affirmative Action' illegal because they see that 'Affirmative Action' is racist. Only with 'Colour Blind' laws and policies can we achieve true equality. The 'left' was wrong. It is clear that 'Affirmative Action' does not solve anything.

You can prove anything with statistics. 14 % of all people know that. Statistics can be misleading. There are often variables that are not considered. We need to forget all the agenda driven studies and white papers, and end the special treatment of minorities. We can only have true equality when we end the special treatment of minorities.

I agree, but how do we promote a sea change in the way people think and hire? Affirmative action doesn't work but there are plenty of ways a business or college could descriminate. Plenty of valid, but highly subjective excuses to be had if one has a mind to block a minority group.

P.S. Could you add a key to those tables?

There is no key, just numbers.( sorry I forgot the link ) I was just saying that stats can be misleading. The wiki page has some good examples using Box Scores of two baseball players. The first link with the little South Park looking guys shows how the paradox can produce stats that indicate discrimination where it doesnt exist.

And I agree. Equality might not be achieved straight away but the environment would be conducive to equality. It is clear that 'Affirmative Action' is wrong to me. I dont like the term 'reverse discrimination'. I think its plain discrimination. There are many reasons to end it apart from discrimination too. Like it nurtures a culture of victimhood. It devalues accomplishment. It often benifits section of the minority that are least in need. It creates resentment toward the minorities that recieve special treatment.

But I agree, I dont think 'discrimination' or 'racism' will just go away all together. But 'sensitivty training' would be a better solution than 'Affirmative Action'.

I agree.

We should all be together. We should define ourselves by nationality as far as politics goes at least. To break the population up into section drives a wedge through society.
