I posted this political journey on my FB because people who aren't on ATS are just very hard to speak to about the reality of our spiraling nation. I
recently had a small debate with a storekeeper who tried to tell me something that I have been very disappointed to hear quite often on ATS lately...
"Voting 3rd party is a vote for Romney!" Well you know what? That fired me up and inspired me to write this. To hell with it. The rabbit hole goes
deep and I'm getting tired of the ignorance. I also know quite a few people who think it's trendy to make fun of anyone even slightly concerned about
the current direction our nation is headed.
People often ask me, “why do you care so much about politics? Politics is a joke, politicians are stupid and it’s not like anything can be done
about it anyway. What can you really do about it?” *sigh* Yes, we all know politicians are stupid, and it’s weird how they ALWAYS are no matter
what we do..which is actually a big red flag right now. I would ask that you read my reasons for this long-winded passion.. it may be long winded, but
anyone who knows me should at least hear this case, then decide that it’s “no big deal”. Part of my reason for writing this is because I’m
tired of explaining it when not many really care anyway, and I’m sick of the little sneers and giggles some people give me because they have either
ignored the reality around them, or have chosen to stay in a state of apathy that I can only say could be the #1 reason for the eventual things to
come.
Several years ago now I started noticing things happening around me that just seemed…strange. Something had happened between the 1980’s, the era I
grew up in and now that had drastically changed before my very eyes. After 9/11 happened, the threat of “terrorism” had become a normal household
topic. Under the Bush administration, new rules and regulations had been placed into law that began to start affecting the daily lives of Americans.
One of the first things I remember was that if a person said “bomb” even out of context or as a joke, they would be escorted out of the airport or
facility the “event” took place at and would be detained/questioned until they were either taken to jail or determined to be
“non-threatening”. Other “rules” would soon follow. Kids were suddenly being monitored and screened at schools and expelled for things like
bringing plastic forks to school or anything else that could be deemed a “threat”. (School wasn’t like that for me, but of course kids were
always pricks no matter what) In some case, kids were and are still not only expelled but are arrested and sent to jail. Schools are now prisons
monitored by cameras everywhere and screened for “weapons” etc.
Stories of kids and old ladies being tazed by police became almost daily. The TSA was formed and had began groping little kids and again, old ladies
all in the name of safety”. The patriot act, which allows the government to spy on it’s own citizens in the name of “national security” had
been enacted. I began to read stories of U.S Veterans being “accidentally” gunned down by poilice because law enforcement felt they may have been
a “threat”. Police were being equipped with military grade equipment more and more to deal with domestic “threats”. The terrorist watch list
was created and people (again little KIDS) were put on the list because the list was so flawed in the first place that it never should have been
created. The internet was now monitored by the FBI and certain words are bad bad bad!
The list goes on and more and more things are being legislated to this day all in the name of this “safety” from the bad guys. A few good recent
examples under our current administration are the NDAA act which our current president (Obama) proposed and then later signed in the law or the U.N.
gun control treaty that the president is currently still reviewing as we speak. NDAA gives the govt the right to detain indefinitely without trial or
kill American citizens if they suspect someone may be a “terrorist”. (what if they just don’t like you?) The U.N. gun control treaty is a
proposal by an international body that dictates U.S. gun control laws. (it’s in the fine print, of course) Another is SOPA which basically restricts
our freedom on the internet again all in the name of “safety” from the “terrorists”.
Let’s not also forget one more recent “change”. Protesters now have what’s called “free speech zones”, and those zones have already been
strictly enforced against OWS protestors on several occasions. Protesters have been filmed being “snagged” by police officers randomly, and now
the police (in riot gear) have the right to use tactics like trapping protestors into a corner then arrest them all. Tier gas is warranted now just
for walking. Watching the Oakland OWS protest was very much like watching “Mad Max”, it was all live on the internet filmed by several protestors
onsite. Like them or hate them (OWS), this is America and they should have the right to protest without standing in special “free speech” zones.
At that point, I didn't even agree with everything OWS was asking for, but this is ridiculous!
Then, on the social front, there is a left/right battle going on which I believe is totally fabricated to keep us all pissed off at each other so that
we don’t focus on the REAL underhanded issues happening that just keep getting worse and worse. (look up “divide and conquer”) The left is
consumed with social issues like gay marriage and racism, while the right is fixated on religion and abortion. The government can’t fix racism no
matter how many laws are added, and the government can’t stop abortions no matter how many laws are added. No atheist is going to agree with a
Christian no matter how much the government intervenes and visa versa. Sure, the government can pass laws that force states to give equal rights to
gays, but can the government force everyone to accept it? The truth is, the government CAN’T really solve those issues, but loves to make us think
this so as long as they keep us distracted with illusions.
Our dear sold-out leaders love when we just shut up and vote for their used car salesmen so-called presidents while they sell out our country. Aside
from the issues the government really can’t fix, there is no difference between the 2 parties, only the illusion of one.
Something is really wrong, no doubt about it. At first I started really looking deep into 9/11 since all of these new rules had started because of
that day, it seemed really quite shady to me. After very many long hours went in to researching it, I have concluded that there are WAY too many
things about that day that don’t add up. Do I claim to know who was really behind it, or all the reasons why? No. But I can conclude that there are
more questions than answers, and the 9/11 commission report and the government backed NIST did a piss poor job of explaining it. That’s just the
entrance to the rabbit hole and doesn’t even require a “conspiracy theorist” to say it. I won’t go into that any more.
