Eye parasites? Worms in Eye?

I've been experiencing 'visual disturbances' i.e. FRIGGIN WORMS IN MY EYE for the past several years. When I am in a well-lit area looking at a light background I see articulated WORMS floating about. Some are 'fat' and others are 'thin'. The fat ones seem to move about while the thin ones appear to be quite dead. I've spoken to my primary care physician about multiple times, yet they claim:

1.) that is impossible.
2.) that is normal. "they are just floaters. Everyone has them."
3.) I'm hallucinating.

and have received 0 medical care for them. I have also had multiple abnormal EKG/ECGs which my primary care physician has claimed are "normal" or due to "faulty machinery"

-Really? 4 different offices with 4 different machines gave me a bad reading?

I would like to have you're opinions on WHAT is happening and WHY these doctors are acting like I'm imagining things. I mean, measuring a persons electrical activity is a hell of a lot more accurate then poking the patients chest with your index finger then exclaiming "you're fine!" right? Can these issues be related? I feel that they are, but the doctors think its all 'imaginary'.

I have for almost 2+ years this problem you're having. I however went to the doctor about my visual disturbances and described them close to how you did but got brushed off and told only to worry and come back if they become annoying and more in number. I really don't want them to be 'worms' though, I described them as spaghetti looking, some have more 'legs' than others and some appear to be tied in knots. It does get annoying though and if I focus on anything I can watch them float around. I still to this day wonder what they are, and hope to get rid of them. The doctor said usually 'floaters' only happen in the elderly but I am only 21. I hope you figure out what they are and how to get rid of them, if you do, please fill me in!

Did your primary care physician a eyes specialist ?

measuring a persons electrical activity is a hell of a lot more accurate...

I don't see a link between a persons electrical activity and the eye worms...can you elaborate ?

maybe you can get some ideas....

I'm not a doctor and obviously can't give you a diagnosis but I do know that it is possible to get parasitic infections in the eyes. Also blood can congeal in the eyes and cause what kind of looks like worms. I think you should go to an ophthalmologist to have your eyes dilated, etc. (If you haven't already that is.)

As to how the heart and eye relate to each other: the heart is the pump for the circulatory system. A systemic infection of parasites is likely to effect it. What concerns me MORE is my brain... the eyes are really close to the brain.

Do you by any chance know what causes floaters in genuinely healthy people? Since it is known as normal is it just something that comes with age kind of like wrinkles? I have realized at doctors it usually is really no cause for concern.. Is it just something you have to deal with? Or can it go away? Just wondering!! (if you know that is!)

I got that done at the MEPS several times and they never saw a thing.

Since my discharge, all of the doctors have just blown me off. I was given the 0231 MOS b4 DEP discharge for apathy and you'd think that they'd have caught any psychological abnormalities, let alone physical ones.

Lord knows some conspiracy guys would like to think parasites and the intel field/enlistment share a relationship. I, personally, don't think so.... but on the unlikely chance that there IS... are there any other users on here who started experiencing problems with parasites after signing up for the service? If so, what MOS were you given? Did you stay in or were you transferred to DEP and discharged after that?

*shudder* parasites
*shudder* parasites that could cause behavioral modification should they get in the brain.

The dr's are right.Everyone experiences this type of thing.If that's the only symptom you're having then it's probably nothing,least of all eye parasites I'm not laughing at you..just the fact you think the people here would know more then you DR would. If it's really concerning you then go see a specialist and see what they say.Chances are if you've been to 4 different places as you claim then they're probably right,there's nothing going on with you. Me thinks if it was "eye parasites" you'd be having a lot more going on.

Yes, me too. Just as you described. I have no worm in my eyes.

I get those sometimes. I get rid of them by looking at the sun with my eyelids closed. I said closed. You can see them with bright light through the eyelid and watch them fall apart. Moving your eyeball around under the lid you can see more, they disappear also. The eyelid is red (as I see it) when you start this but turns to a fleshlike color in a short time. I haven't a clue what they are but mine go away. My vision clears after doing this about three times at a few minutes each time. It is no worse than sitting at the beach in the sun with your eyes closed catching some rays. That would also work. About four weeks later I start to notice them again. It must have something to do with something happening with the sunlight, almost like what happens with vitamin d in the skin. Don't open your eyes when looking at the sun though. I get blue spots in my vision when that happens. They tend to last a few minutes. Maybe we get old because we change our habits which eliminates the ability of nature to help us stay young.

A person can get something like amoebas in the eye but that is very rare and they are very small.

I've had a lot of eye operations; some here may remember I'm one of the few who have gained vision having had none. There is a lot of debris including bits of vitrius, which is the jelly at the back of the eye, a little cataract and some more. This all looks like worms, transparent and moving. Try looking through a microscope or through a magnifying glass at a light source, not too strong of course, and you'll see them floating around. I too have been told to live with them, that they don't exist or that I'm seeing things. You will get used to them though.
