Ummm...Ron Paul was running for the Republican nomination.
Did you not know that was his planned strategy??? To attempt to infiltrate the GOP to get some of his ideas in the platform???
You may not believe in the two party system...but Ron Paul apparently does.

Why do you assume that Ron Paul supporters are part of the "Republican" club? I support Ron Paul, but I sure as hell do not agree with the right half OR left half of our faux two party system!
If you believe that Ron Paul supporters are believers in the two party system, you are delusional....

You apparently forget how as an independent he was ignored by the MSM? Did he tow the party line with the rest of the Republicans???? NOPE!
And to further add to your book club analogy, Why do you assume that people need to belong to a book club to read a book?
It just goes to show how ridiculous our political system has become in this country! Your analogy using the words club and implying that a person needs to belong to a team tells me how pathetic our beliefs and convictions have become. To hell with a person applying critical thinking skills on their own huh? Join a team or club and let the mob mentality rule!
"The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge natural to party dissention, which in different ages & countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders & miseries, which result, gradually incline the minds of men to seek security & repose in the absolute power of an Individual: and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of Public Liberty."

Just the fact that they are trying to control, manipulate, and gag potential competition and who Americans choose or would like to hear speak is beyond me and very dishonest.
You do not see that?
How is that a choice? How is that a democracy? The parties is not a club, it’s not intended to be a club
read the constitution, dam I am Canadian and I read it.
Its intended to provide Americans with a choice and what you are explaining is a private 2 party dictatorship. And when the choice is chosen for you then it’s all over.
Seriously think about it. I am not saying Romney will end up a bad president if he wins I am just saying why be afraid of competition? Why not just choose who wins the competition? When there is a fair competition then the winner is honored and supported by the party.
Pretty simple to me. As soon as you are afraid of competition you are on the downfall because competition is the only way to chose a leader to a free country period.
So what you are saying is that America now is a private club and not a free country?
Yep people like you are the problem and again just my opinion and you are entitled to your own choices just pretty sure you would react different if this happened in any other setting!!!! That’s all!

I have defended our political system to so many people over the years at home and abroad. I have defended the Republican Party for all it is worth but I cannot rationalize this. I remember hearing a politician say in the past “I did not leave the republican party the Republican Party left me.” I have always told people your vote counts but these primaries have proven me wrong. I am done with this party.
I do not know who I am voting for but it will not be Romney I cannot support this party in any way.
I have always voted for who I thought was best for this country which means I have not been on any particular side but have always leaned right. This travesty of our system has given me reason to lean another way.
I will always vote there is nothing that can dissuade me from that fact. There is nothing to gain from not participating but as long as rules in the Republican Party exist that keep the people from being heard I will do what I can to keep them out of power. If they will do this to their own party what would they do to the country? I am not willing to find out.
