As an avid watcher of Pawn stars with Chumley my favourite
I witnessed on this show a guy who entered the porn store and tried to sell his remote controlled flying saucer.
This thing was "way cool"
, in front of my almost disbelieving eyes, this thing hovered and flew around the store.

Th equestion has to be asked.
This thing the guy brought in to the pawn store in LA was sold for approx a hundred bucks from memory.

So is it conceivable this device and others are used in UFO recordings?

This thing looked like a UFO of the sixties or newer , it did the business, I would love to own one.

Also if a remote controlled device can fly, can't a full size version fly?

Whats going on?

If the toy uses a ducted fan to fly that would not scale well to a full size vehicle. A R/C UFO would be great for hoaxers though...

I would like to see the clip of that episode.

OK hear you but why not?
Why wouldn't it translate into a full scale flying saucer?
Just rebalancing my memory (red wine) the hovering UFO may have been on 'Hardcore Pawn" the show featuring the tough guy (surrounded by many big security beefs) and his son and daughter.

Not Pawn stars that features Chumley and Big Haus, his old man and THE old man.

Perhaps someone who knows how to embed and locate this gem can help.

It certainly wa an eye opener to me .
I have seen like RC helicopters, planes, boats, cars ect but had never seen a RC UFO saucer object.

"Vverrry interesting," said Freud. "Ve shud explore dis furder..."

RC models can and do feature in hoaxes. Didn't see the episode, so I don't know exactly what it looks like. It's possible, I suppose.

Sometimes air flow doesn't work quite like it does in the smaller- scale testing. Sometimes we spend millions of dollars to find this out the hard way.

For example:
en.wikipedia.org...

Looked real good on paper, and tested well, until they actually built it.

Chumlee is so cool I'd love to have a beer and shoot a game of pool with him. (The other kid seems like a rich know it all prick.)

Didn't see the episode but I think I've seen toys like the one you're describing. I bet you could geek out one of those little r/c helicopters to make it look like a ufo.

Yeah agree that Big Haus/hoss dude does come acrossas a bit of a condescending superior type as he continually bags Chumley.

But Chumley takes it , and is probably earning quite a wage by now.

The dressed up Helicopter theory is intriguing , but how does the disguise not get shredded by the rotor blades?

Here is a cool one, the fan is inside the fuselage so it has a nice clean look to it.

I was thinking of the center ducted fan type, when you scale them big because of the power to weight ratio they can end up a 'ground effect' craft (like a hover craft with no skirt) unable to gain any altitude.

Nice Freudian slip!

I've seen every episode of Pawn Stars but I've never seen anyone fly a RC saucer or aything inside the store. It must have been on that other, inferior pawn show.

Yes it is, and there's been a few videos from Youtube posted here of RC UFO's and planes with LED lights on them.
