Occupy Sets Wall Street Tie-Up as Protesters Face Burnout

Venomous Forums

Attendees at general assemblies had long and circuitous talks about allocating money, not about “what they wanted in the world, or how they were going to change it,” said Nicole Carty, 24, a Brown University graduate who helped run meetings.

Hornbein said that online forums became venomous as “systems broke down.” A separate oversight body, the Spokes Council, also dissolved, he and other participants said.

That means there’s no nucleus to a movement that had already rejected leaders, a central website, unified fundraising drives, administrative headquarters

So it has been over a year now and what has this occupy movement accomplished? NOTHING. Normally that would be a bad thing but as they never really agreed as a movement WHY they were there in the first place you can't totally fault them for not achieving something they never set out to.
So when all is said and done OWS has nobody to blame but themselves. It was not the city, evil government, wall street or the draconian police force- it was their own stupidity and lack of direction.
So the protests will get smaller and smaller until it is just a small group with signs that everyone ignores. OWS has failed

I look at the Occupy movement, and I have to state that they were at the wrong place, at the wrong time. They should have been in washington, and a few years ago.

But beyond that, who wants to have anything to do with a movement that doesn't stick out for you. You go there, willing to demonstrate and when the cops come and beat you up ... drag you out of the crowd. The crowd doesn't hold on to you ... they're not ready to fight ... after all, they don't have an agenda. No goal, no vision ... they're just there, and those who get mazed, kicked and beaten ... just hard luck.

I wouldn't show up for a movement like that ...

They were infiltrated as planned! Originally it was a good idea, thus TPTB sent in squads to infiltrate and water the movement down into to so many different groups with different agendas that it was snuffed out. The same thing happened to the Tea Party. Not surprising if you take notice of how when groups like these first come out, they seem to be united and then they get infiltrated and divided to the point that no one can take them seriously.....

People might be waking up, but they need to be aware of the hundreds of years of tactics that our governments are using against us when we try to make changes and rebel against them.....

Just my two cents on why these well intentioned movements always fail......

You sound very happy about that. Did they stop you from enjoying your local park for a while? OWS was only ever a try hard American imitation of the Indignados. The world is bigger than the United States. The movement has been a success in many ways. I think it has alot to do with political changes in Europe where we are seeing traditional political parties losing power and even being ousted. The American Public is not ready to turn away from their duopoly. Thats not the fault of OWS. I see OWS as a seed. I think it was a great success and I can see a far less selfish and less egocentric movement growing from what was OWS.

Oh please from the very start the major problem with the "movement" was that it had no stated purpose or goals. It was not "infiltrated" it just never had an idea of what it was doing.

Also, people whose ultimate goal is peace are not really well versed in warfare tactics or social engineering. We're just young people that are fed up with all the greed and destruction, we want to be able to have children that can look forward to some kind of decent future. We're not head bashing war fighters.

Oh really, perhaps you weren't paying attention. One of the things they were supposed to be for was ending the FED!!

Obvously you weren't paying attention, and only listening to what the MSM was telling you....but then again, it seems that most people only judge the occupy movement based upon what they are told by our government propoganda maching we call the MSM....

For you to say it wasn't infiltrated means you are being disingenous or you are flat out mislead as to it's beginning....

That is complete and utter crap, hippies protesting viet nam- THAT was about peace the only thing you could really nail down about occupy is that people were poor and pissed.

No.... I was paying attention and they were for ending the fed, along with the two billion other things they were "for" and "against". They have been so all over the place that it was hard to keep track of things they were "for". They were just throwing spaghetti at a wall to see what sticks.

Good! You were paying attention. But did you realize that it got fragmented and ridiculous, when the Democratic party started funding them? When Michael Moore got involved?

I will give you this, it would be very difficult to maintain a goal with the amount of people who were (blindly) participating because they thought it was a cool thing to do! But I will still stand by my statement that they were infiltrated! Not to say they still might have fallen apart later, than sooner as it happened....

What I am saying is that they were fragmented and ridiculous from day one.

Wall Street bloodmoney is not a red herring, it was extremely relevant to the discussion we were having.
