I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, so mods, I apologize ahead of time. My wife just informed me of this information as I got home from work ( I am stationed in San Diego). I took a quick check on this site before i looked at MSM site, Yahoo. I can not believe me eyes....

news.yahoo.com...

This is definitely not good. According to the news feed, the accused " were on active-duty or were former members of the military,". And specifically this is what prosecutors said about militia member Pvt. Isaac Aguigui: "He targeted soldiers who were in trouble or disillusioned.". This worries me greatly, because I am definitely disillusioned with the state of affairs these days, but I have no desire to go to the lengths the people in the article went to. Now, not only are private, law abiding, armed citizens being targeted, the military is being targeted to as being anti-government. This divided the country further into a "Us versus Them" mentality. When will this madness end?

These guys are accused of plotting to kill the President... Are they really the best poster boys that we can use for REAL vet victims that are targeted... I think not.

I dislike our government and Obama but we don't solve our problems, and definitely don't gain any sympathy for the cause by defending people like this. We have elections, this isn't an African nation where we just kill people we disagree with.

Let's be a little caution before calling these men victims, if they were plotting what they're accused of they are traitors to this country.

From the article:
Four Army soldiers based in southeast Georgia killed a former comrade and his girlfriend to protect an anarchist militia group they formed that stockpiled assault weapons and plotted a range of anti-government attacks, prosecutors told a judge Monday.

I don't see any problem with the government going after murderers... According to the article linked in the original post these people were pretty terrible humans.

I can't find the article right now, but it said they had 87,000 dollars worth of weapons and explosives. Seriously, I am a vet, how do they come up with much cash invested in weapons, ammo, and explosives.

I wrote this in haste, and did not mean to call the prosecuted "victims". My issue was that the law abiding disillusioned are now going to be suspect, because a few crackpots decided to take matters into their own hands, and committed murder in the process.

their little militia got outed, because their leader got scared and killed two of their own.
the government didn't target the militia, they went after murders and their militia was exposed.

come on now. Just come on. Are we seriously making these people (and i use that term lightly) out to be victims? REALLY?

There have been and will always be disillusioned citizens. And among them, there will be outlier who are radical in their ways.

Huge changes won't happen. The authorities are after the big bad groups with damage potential. And chances are things won't happen before they get too big, let alone carry out their actions. Authorities won't break a sweat for the "mainstream" disillusioned crowd. Relax.
