that's ridiculous. it is not a gateway drug. different personality types have affinities with different drug types. some smoke cigarettes, but don't drink. some smoke, but don't drink. some people who are naturally hyper, like to smoke to slow the pace. other hyper types, like being hyper and prefer coke. some people like percodans. xtc. acid. mushrooms. speed. heroin. crack. some do every drug they can get their veins on. people CHOOSE using FREE WILL which drugs they would like to use to self medicate themselves.

people will not be stopped. not even in a complete police state could you stop it. there is great power in desire. it is the basis of all markets. it is a natural human drive to get high. all cultures that know how, do it. there has been a BIG ZERO DECREASE in the amount of drug use since the day they made it illegal(choose your drug and day). it is harder to get legal prescription drugs than it is to get illegal drugs. think about THAT.

being a human is the gateway drug.

People like you think that doing drugs is a choice ... well my dad has been in jail my Uncle is in Jail and there are numerous others that are crked out on the streets or in jail or WORSE even DEAD b/c of all your little friends that wanna have a good time and do XTC ACID crack coc Meth vicodin xanax .... all of these are bad for you if you abuse them and if you are sitting there and telling me that you have the right to abuse all of these drugs and become an addict. You go right ahead but it will be illegal b/c when I see you out on the street cracked out of your mind thinking people are watching youand you trip out and loose your mind and run out in front of a car or something and then they swerve and kill a 6 year old child it beCOMES YOUR FAULT !!!! all because of your "CHOSEN HABITS" that actually you didn't choose the first time you do some of those drugs you are addicted if you have the right personality .... Some people never even have a chance ...itis instilled some where in side them that is they take that drug they will be addicted

ohhhhhh. you're dad went to jail for being a crackhead, and now you are rebounding 100% in the opposite direction? sorry to hear that, dude. crack is nasty. however, deciding to do drugs IS a choice. he made it. you can't blame society. the CIA controls the flow of coc aine into the country, so you could divert some of your energy to stopping them. shouldn't be hard. they are only the government sponsored secret police force.
if you want to blame something, blame runaway no conscience corporate capitolism that sends people by the thousands into destitution at the sweep of a pen. blame mass media fear-mongering, and the depression of information overload. this is the root of the problem. people turn to drugs when they are unhappy in the real world.
too bad that when you're dad wanted to get high, it had to be illegal and he had to wind up in jail. too bad the government isn't concentrating on education instead of enforcement. you seem to be missing the fact that DRUGS ARE ALREADY ILLEGAL! you can't make them any more illegal. making them illegal has NO EFFECT except to turn otherwise decent human beings into criminals. ZERO EFFECT. get it? it has been tried and tested, and what has happened is the market is so lucrative, that the people who are supposed to be policing the stuff, are actually using their power to CORNER THE MARKET, and get filthy rich and powerful.
if addiction were to be viewed as a social problem, instead of a criminal one, there would be no need for muggings, B&E's, car-jackings, etc. all the money that is now circulated into the drug trade(which for most countries amounts to a HUGE piece if the GNP) and circulated into drug law enforcement, could remain in the community for social programs that would keep the medical/social problem of drugs under close scrutiny. this has been proven to work in other countries, like the netherlands and great britian.
i suggest you find out who michael ruppert is, and read his experiences as a frustrated policeman, trying to investigate the drug trade.
there was also an article in mclean's about an RCMP officer getting stonewalled by officials, everytime he got close to slowing down the hong kong triads business routes to vancouver. our system of governance has fallen into systematic corruption. this compartmentalisation, and 'need to know' crap has to stop, if there is going to be any semblance of truth and reason on this planet.

p.s. my freinds aren't druggies. i just know for a fact, that making drugs illegal only intensifies the problem.

Alaska will be voting on the legalization of bud on Nov. 2. Quoting from the article:

"If the initiative passes, Alaska will become the only state where it's legal to smoke, buy and sell pot. This is significant, for at any given time, over 800,000 people are in prison for pot crimes in the US, while an astounding 100 million people claim to have smoked pot at least once. This disparity between public use and incarceration proves that the current drug policy isn't working. It's time to try something new. And if Alaska breaks new ground, other states will surely follow with their own laws."
