Object in Curiosity Rover Mast Camera Images...

Was taking a close look at the images on SOL 17 and noticed a object in several frames .. At first I thought it a dust speck but it has structure and moves across the sky and looks to become more distant and then lowers to the top of a distant ridge... It has a conical shape and is not on the lens as a dust speck as it is not at the same position in the images... I have taken 4 of the images and places a small square around the object and then enlarged it next to the square... You can go to the Curiosity Raw Images pages at the NASA web site and look for yourselves at the Odrig images on SOL 17 of the Mast Camera raw image sets to varify I have not altered the actual images other than to point out the object...

Some picture artifact... the possibility this being a craft is near to none.

Hmmm sure is interesting , but I'm not sure on what that is, it looks so small!
Hope someone here can point out what it could be.

I of course thought it to be dust but considering it is not on the lens as a dust speck on the lens would be in the same position on all images and it is not in all images, also it's not in the same position relative to the terrain ... In the later frames it is a fainter smaller image as if it were further away than in the earlier images... Also if you go through all the shots the same object is just above the small knoll in the center of the image well below the mountain crest ... Also it has a conical shape in every image with the same photo aspect... If it were a dust particle it would be rotating in the wind... Then we must consider the atmospheric density an anything larger than a fine dust particle would not move through the sky, it would simple not be able to be lifted by the wind... a 100mph wind on Mars is about like a 10mph wind on earth...

As for actual size there is no way to determine that from the images... It could be the size of a Knat close to the camera or as big as a 747 off in the distance... But since the rover has not moved all the frames are from a fixed point so the object being in different location can't be due to change in camera location...

I have no idea what it is and it may be just a imaging issue but would love a NASA explanation and have send them the question also....

Also just to tweek the conspiracy side of things... SOL 17 was the last time they released photos from the Mast Camera... They have released many images from SOL 18 and 19... but we are in SOL 20 and have yet to have any images from the MAST cam since these images were released...

Looking at the odd shape of the object in pic one and two it might be mars moon Phobos or Deimos. Just a guess. Phobos is in a close orbit to mars.

I have seen the objects in the sky in older images, if they are digital artifacts why are they in the same place
in the sky in different images, camera angles, etc...

Maybe it's a martian bug wanting to be the first one to be photographed?

although I saw a face from Sol 1 of Curiosity,and posted it on my photobucket,I feared that others would not be able to make it out well,so I'm adding a more obvious face with hand extended holding a rock,fingers evident.If you wonder why the negativity keeps me away from posting more,just thank the paid disinfo agents.
If you'd like to see the 1 foot tall people on Mars,the expert at finding them is called "Mars Uncensored" and search out his great images.Yes I said 1 foot tall Martians,bald wearing black clothing.

greetings quantummist, I am quekinat as this is my first reply I hope i have done this right. In google I found a link to a report of a conical ufo that scared a military pilot as it matched his plane for speed, the report was from NICAP and I typed in conical UFOs and it was a short way down the list. So i believe it was a ufo that curiosity caught and photographed, so well spotted my friend.
