After months of protesters, Japanese PM Noda finally had a face-to-face sit down meeting with Anti-Nuclear protesters. Yet, how serious is he taking them? National elections are coming up and the DPJ might get the boot by voters. He this just a ploy to get votes?

Given that Nuclear Plants shut down after Fuku are being brought back online now, he apparently isn't taking this whole thing seriously enough. I would have thought Japan's leaders might have learned the nature of their physical position and nuclear power on a Pacific Island, subject the the rages and tantrums of the Sea. Err.... Maybe those good Japanese activists can talk some sense into him.

In Japan, First Reactor Is Restarted Since Quake

If any nation in the world had a reason to become the master of green energy development and literally re-invent the whole industry if needed, you'd think Japan would be the one.

The people here got really angry when the Oi reactors were restarted. Protesters blocked the front gate and chanted non-stop for several days. Riot police were sent to guard the front gate as well. The J-gov has been going totally against the will of the people. It got out of hand here a long time ago.

Yeah, the J-gov should realize the nation`s unique position geographically. The Japanese islands are directly in the ring of fire. This place is super prone to earth quakes and other massive natural disasters.

I wonder just how much of an effect this meeting will have on national elections? I would hope the people here are smart enough to see Noda is fishing for votes. I doubt that he will win any support form the Anti-Nuclear movement at all.
