WHY is no one focusing on the need to do away with the 2-party system?!

I think we are dude! You will just not hear it in the media, and so it is not a hot topic.

There was never originally meant to be a bicameral party in the US. The founding fathers were staunchly against splitting the country into multiple parties. The parties offer a grossly oversimplified view of ideologies which causes a base for mass bias and finger-pointing.

What I truly believe is that we've misplaced this vision of compromise. In a system of governance, and believe me you don't want to live in a world where there is no system of governance, there must be a method of mediating individual differences regarding how to achieve the ideal.

It is a nice fantasy to think we could all live our own ideals and others to live theirs, but I am afraid all we would have is chaos.

Politics is an eloquent way of crafting our social reality. Let's have fun with it.

I couldn't find an intro thread on your history so I don't know if you were a long time lurker or a new user just finding ATS a couple months ago when you made an account? I say that only because I see this topic come up as a form of thread topic a few times a week, at least.....and within political threads several times a day on average?

As for the greater nation around us... Well, Paul and Perot have both shown a pretty hard movement within at least the Right and I'd betting no fewer on the Left who feel the 2 sided ONE party system we have is not workable. It's just a matter of...what to do? How to do it? What can any single or small group get accomplished?

I don't know about anyone else...but I'll be working almost full time outside of school on that very issue after November and the silly season dies off for another 3 years or so. 2016 is going to be different if people like me have anything to say about it....and I with the millions of like mind, WILL have something to say about it.

Thanks for replying.
I understand your position, that you can be shure of.
But, if you have carefully red the post, I am refering only to our economical division.
The stands-for have always been so many as there is people.

I do not think though that the lack of governance as is, would create any more chaos and destruction than what we have at present. You should mind that we have no real experience to prove that point.
Would people be willing to commit crimes, murder, steal if their needs have already been met?

HA! Of course they did. Maine delegates invalidated and stripped of their votes at the convention. Sorry Ben, we were definitely NOT able to keep the Republic you guys gave us. We turned it into a faux democracy tightly controlled by a psychopathic oligarchy.
