That's what I'm saying. We're left with hearsay and propaganda. It's politics as usual.

By that logic Alexander the Great's existence is nothing but "hearsay and propaganda".. the first recorded written record of him appears 400 years after his death. Do you doubt his existence as well?

I don't doubt there was yet another claiming to be son of god. I'm sure he was enough of a rebel to get himself killed. His story might have been interesting enough to inspire the "new" form of control that emerged. He, or the magician/rebel/prophet character of the time was obviously used for lies. The authors of the NT speak of things that defy physics and logic.

I wouldn't agree with that. Physics accounts for event horizons, that's what miracles are.

How does the point of no return or the vanishing point demonstrate how miracles are real? How do they show that the impossible is possible?

Creation and All of Life is A Miracle...

For he spoke, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. Psalm 33:9

Hebrews 11:3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

So typical: you'll deal with what you can easily diss, but ignore what can be ignored but not dismissed, like NOTurTypical's previous post:

"I got into the Bible by having a fascination with prophecy, then found out about the ELS codes and the heptadic structure under the text. Hundreds of detailed prophecies, to me, proves the origin of the text originated from an entity outside the dimensionality of time."

I agree with him 100%. You probably have no idea what he is talking about - ELS codes? heptadic structure? If you knew and understood the implications, you would be more humble, at least. It's ignorance as usual.

By all means, enlighten me. I'm not going to spend my time trying to make something from nothing. Why not invest that amount of research into science? Why not look for clues in nature rather than an old book?

The Grateful Dead had quite a career making lyrics that fit lives like Tarot cards, but I'm pretty sure most of us knew it was a mind game.

OK, clues in nature? I can think of two things I found myself while hiking around the fringes of my old hometown of Kansas City. One day, on the banks of the Missouri River, I found two fossilized clams, shells together, and hey they must be old, right? However, after (thousands? millions?) of years of tumbling in the river, the ridges on the shells were still sharp and distinct. Interesting. Free fossils, not in situ - that's unexpected anyway, and maybe fossilization happens differently (faster?) than we are told. I still have the shells. Another day, I was hiking on the high bluffs near Parkville, and found a shelf about 2/3rds of the way up to the top. Wondering if it were just sign of a landslide, I walked along it, and found that it turned the corner of a side valley, and continued up the side valley at the same level. Realizing that it was an ancient riverbank, I went back to the bigger valley, looked across to the Kansas side (the opposite bluff), and tried to imagine the volume of water to fill a river of that size. I realized then that the old bank I stood on must have dated to when the ice sheet was melting off at the end of the last ice age. This may sound trivial, but you can find this stuff yourself, and not just read about it in some textbook, which was written anyway by some professor who had to toe the academic and scientific party lines.

As to science and an "old book," that is if you are referring to the Bible, I note that the first mention of the scientific method anywhere (that I am aware) is in the early chapters of the Book of Daniel.

I have tried to enlighten a lot of people on this site and elsewhere, but in every case, my message was rejected. Hey gentledissident, here's a novel idea: we live in the internet age. You could punch "ELS codes," "heptadic codes," and "Ivan Panin" into a search engine, look into it yourself, and reach your own conclusions. Just remember that the Bible is the best (by a huge margin) preserved book we have from antiquity, and the text shows some amazing and unique features. As Kosh Naranek said, "The truth points to itself."

What does the Grateful Dead have to do with any of this?

Really? This is not only a silly game, the players are using a translation.

Congrats on the fossils. I understand how you see God in them. You seem to superimpose God on everything.

Their songs are sometimes like a game where you superimpose your personal questions on them. Being the person who knows the answer, you "read the tea leaves" and let yourself be heard. This round about way of knowing ourselves has been going on a long time because, the truth hurts.

I guess that answers my question.

Sure, I've played with the god concept. I've done this despite knowing better. My willingness even got me hypnotized into being a believer for a while. To answer your question, no. I've talked to myself. If you're talking without anyone else around, you're talking to yourself.

Man, I hope you're just playing games with me and not in some religious trance. I'll try the Das Energi approach.

The ELS codes may be a silly game, as not everyone is 100% convinced they are real. I am not, for instance. BTW, the ELS codes use the Hebrew Torah text NOT translations, so you betray your ignorance here. Do your homework please! The heptadic codes are 100%+ however, so of course, you do not deal with them...

Of course I superimpose God on fossils, on ancient river banks, on everything. God is all in all, and even those who try to weasel out of God's plan are not able to do so.

So, being a Deadhead is a religion? Seriously?? Well, given the example of what rock 'n roll has devolved into, and also the reggae/Rasta connection, I should not wonder...

Just like the person with the Bluetooth phone, do not mistake a person in prayer as talking to him/her self. I have had God speak to me (not audibly), and have prayed and have been answered. God's words to me were the best words ever spoken to me, and what He said about my life came about in every detail. Not everyone is ear-marked to be saved in this life, but you're better off if you are. It is not too late.

What is Das Energi?
