A question about light, A mystery ? the age of the earth ? universe ?

Genesis chapter 1 God spoke let there be light and there was light , day one

verses 1 -5

veses 14 -19

we see God creating lights in the heavens the firmament to give light to the earth , to mark the seasons,

also a greater and lesser light to rule the day and the night .

it was the fourth day. ?

ive heard it expressed the universe,l the earth is at most 6 - 10 years old. ?

are the stars in the heavens bright enough for us to see , or has the light from those stars traveled to us.

and are any of the stars, galaxy's ect discovered more than 10.000 lights years away ?

Yes. More than that actually. And yes, the light has had to have the time to travel to us, no matter how "bright" the stars are.

Even the young earth creationists give the earth 4,000 years.

Of course the stars are bright enough to see. Can't you see them at night? Yes,,the light has traveled to us.

I would thin most galaxies are more than 10,000 light years from us.

sorry i meant 6000 - 10.000 years old

when i hear people throwing out big numbers , like our universe is 25 billion light years across,

and we can see the Andromina belt 200 million light years away, other galaxy's 5 billion years away . ?

i just wonder how they can calulate such last numbers, and just how far away is 5 billion light years. ?
