Currently in a west to SW direction there is what appears to be hovering over the sky's in Melbourne

3 bright white lights/stars or ufo's in a straight line that appear to be moving very slowly or it may be the earth moving giving that effect.

but iv never seen them before .Any one else living in melbourne have a look.

I am in Adelaide and when I looked in the west south west direction tonight I saw the three stars in a line too. I have never seen them before. They were the same stars that looked like a triangle the last few nights but have seemed to flatten out to look like a line. I looked twice too but if it the same thing you have noticed nothing to worry about. Maybe it isn't what you are viewing though. The centre star looks reddish colour tonight.

Saw them earlier myself.

Saturn, Mars, Spica.

I'm one of those people who know the sky well enough to know *instantly* that there is no such star formation, and at least one has to be a star. Quick look at where it was in the sky told me at least one was Spica. The red one must be a planet therefore Mars and the other would be Saturn because no other planet is that brightness at that place.

And whatdaya know... here's a link...
Mars, Saturn and Spica line up on evening of August 13

Thanking you. That is exactly what I am seeing. As the article states we see it horizontally rather than vertically in Australia.

Dude no sh t I saw them about early April! What got me and my workmates was how how perfectly aligned they were and how they moved from a straight line to a perfect triangle and also stars don't shine that bright at that hour they were not stars.I remember that day cause I saw a meteor enter the atmosphere about 15 mins before seeing what you are describing. Now I don't believe in aliens so to speak but there was no doubt in our minds that what were seeing were crafts of some sort. My conclusion on that day is that the meteor that I saw, was heading for earth and something was coming to watch the show.
