Yes the first guy looked down at the shorter second guy and looked confused. If I could give his thoughts a voice, it would be 'what the heck do we do now?' HIs right hand, with the saw, came down to his side. And his demeanour changed to much less aggressive.

That was when I put my thought out there and shouted Get out of my house now!.
They did and my hubby heard them say sorry. I didn't.

They broke the hinge by trying to squeeze through a window in the Conservatory. A toddler could do it but not a skinny teenager, I would say one of them has a big bruise on his back.LOL

We are two rooms away, with two fans on and an Air cooling unit, as it was really hot. And we had the TV on and I was reading something on the web. Pretty noisy eh?

Our dog heard them but he is a vocal breed and to our shame we ignored him till he started growling too. It was my eldest who noticed the different bark, not me.

My eldest went to investigate and saw one of them poke his head around the kitchen door frame. Her thought was Ninjas. (Not mine.)

The Police believe they got flustered and distracted by 1. the dog, 2. being discovered by someone and 3. the clothes horses (wet washing on wire frames) along the hall. One of the policemen said it got caught up in his flak jacket and flustered him.

Hope I answered your questions.

Anyone who invades an occupied house deserves to die.

Next time, be ready to make it happen.

Have a secure place to dump the bodies pre-selected.

My dog has just been weighed by our vet as he had cystitus recently. He is actually overweight.

I think most of your other questions have been answered by myself or another poster.

We were actually laughing, as we looked around the house. Laughing in disbelief. The only time I got really annoyed was when we realised the laptop had gone.

We did not hire anyone, these men were after something in particular and as everyone in my street knows, it is not in MY house. I do not even take paracetamol for a headache, if I can bear the pain.

It was the CID woman who suggested that the first guy was a gang member, due to something he was wearing.

When our rabbit died in June, we all cried and had a family cuddle, we did the same and that was when I noticed I was shaking and my youngest was too. That is how she deals with fear. My eldest goes into herself and gets grumpy for a couple of weeks.

My youngest has had a nightmare that they are coming back again, to kill our dog this time.
I have been having nightmares for several weeks now. Funny how on this forum, not many people have asked me what I dreamt. I have been keeping a dream journal for a while now and it has helped me to better understand myself.) ( I know you didn't ask for this, I am expanding my answer, hope you don't mind.)

Hope these have answered your questions.

Actually I do not hate all staffs, just the ones next door, as it murdered my rabbits. And they have set it on me once. It snarls and growls at my dog at a gap under the 6ft fence. My dog just ignores it. If a dog can hate, that dog does.

So how do normal home invasions go?

I am starting to think that Murgatroid is right in a way, they did not seem scared but complient, after they realised their mistake.
And I have been seeing a blue light, 16 inches diameter circle, 8 feet above the floor, in different places in our front room. And a white one too. As if it was the aura of someone's head. For the last couple of weeks.

Maybe this is why we escaped with just a laptop being stolen?

Who knows?

Yes, do you go to the Rant forum regularly then?
I only go there when S**T happens to me.

Do you think that something has it in for our family then?

I was even thinking about writing a book about the stuff that happens to us.
I was going to call it 'What the Hell is going on?'.

But I don't want to be responsible for any suicides, after reading the book. LOL

A home invasion is a terrible thing. Living in the U.S., it's difficult for me to imagine trying to defend myself or my family with something other than a firearm. A baseball bat works great, in lieu of a shotgun.

Or a cricket bat? A quarterstaff can be quite lethal, too...

What is so unbelievable is people make posts every day about ridiculous things that we all know have no chance of actually happening. This lady posts about 4 men breaking into your house and you all question her and deny it happened? You are all insane!

Every single person who has been a victim of home invasion robbery probably thought "i cant believce this is happening to me" during that time. To claim she doesnt sound real is unbelievable with the stuff a majority of the posts you all post and star here.

Lady, take a boxing class. Learn how to throw some proper punches. If you say your well built theres a chance you could learn a very effective punch or 2. Modify your training for the street, not for boxing competition, like throwing jabs at peoples eye sockets and your rear punch to their throats.

keep a knife on you at all times, and I dig the slingshot Idea. Who the hell would want to get hit by a sling shot?

The inconsistencies just continue....

You said this:

And It was my daughter who thought they looked like Ninjas, as they were all dressed in black clothing, wore hoods and covered faces.

Yet, just a few post later, you state this:

Yes the first guy looked down at the shorter second guy and looked confused. If I could give his thoughts a voice, it would be 'what the heck do we do now?' HIs right hand, with the saw, came down to his side. And his demeanour changed to much less aggressive.

So how could you see their expressions if their faces were covered?

This happened like 4 months ago.

Isn't this pretty much a non-issue by now?

Besides that, body language itself can give plenty expression.
Silent Films relied on such a great deal.

Well, I do apologize. Thank you for then taking the time to make me aware of this. You know, I would think any topic on here is still open for discussion, no matter how old the thread is.

I browse the recent topics pages, and this one popped up, therefore I replied. The date I did not read.

Furthermore, silent films also relies heavily on facial expressions, as many of the close up shots will show. The fact is, the inconsistency of the OP is glaring. Be it a non issue or not.

oh how scarey, get a bigger dog, infact get two of them.

If a member of your family plays baseball or softball, leave the bat somewhere you can grab it quickly.

I have a spear gun with four prongs on it with rusty barbs that I keep close. One good jab with that in the guts and whoever has broken in will be worse for wear and then I sik my dogs onto the person/persons.

If your in the US, your lucky you can have a gun, I am in AU and we live in a nanny Country and we are not allowed to have guns...so I found other means.

Well, if you can't get a gun I would suggest knives and swords then. Maybe even a spear. Time to get midieval on home invasions.

you are all such snobs...

Have you ever heard of body language? You can read body language to see what people are thinking...if someone had a masked face, Confusion would be a pretty easy sign to read...you are all so arrogant sometimes.

If you guys allowed guns, you could have eliminated the threat to your family...

Assuming this is legit (and there are a lot of things not adding up)...you should be thankful all they stole were "things" that can be replaced...unlike your children.

Personally, even armed with a shotgun, if I see a guy with a knife in my house, I'm going to be terrified for the safety of my loved ones. Not too terrified to make him a big red mess....but still terrified.

Of course, if anyone broke into our place at night, they'd have a lot of challenges. First, they'd have to get through the fence, even if they do, they have to somehow get the large gate open to get a vehicle near the house.

Assuming they do that quietly, they'll trip the alarms if they go in through a window or door. Then, the dogs will bark (and likely attack), the cockatoo will then scream. Our bedroom door is locked at night, but by this time, I'd already have gone out the back porch door armed with a shotgun and pistol (and in through the house that way), while my wife arms herself with a pistol. Our home is pretty dark at night, and the light switches aren't always in easy to find areas, but of course, we know where they are.

You may not be able to have guns, but even if you just get some battery powered alarms on portals, you'd at least know someone was in. And of course, even a fake gun can be intimidating, especially to robbers who don't have one...and they don't KNOW yours is fake.

An air horn? Why assume that the neighbors are gonna hear anything? Why assume that they will answer the door?

What would they do to help the situation? Grabbing a cell phone and dialing 911 would even be better than that, though I would not wait for the authorites to save you. And what the hell is one male and his two daughters gonna do against 3 men armed with a knife and saw?

Sorry, but you just gave some terrible advice. Not trying to be rude either, it's just my opinion. If it were my home they broke into, they all would have got a shotgun blasted in their face.

Train the dog, take off the muzzle and since it occured in Britain purchase a shotgun on the black market. ~$heopleNation
