Aleppo earthquake, year 1138. Death toll : 230 000
Shaanxi earthquake, year 1556. Death toll : 830 000
Indian Ocean earthquake, year 2004. Death toll : 250 000
Haiti earthquake, year 2011. Death toll : 50 000

Antonine plague, year 165-180. Death toll : 5 000 000

the horses are tired. And the jockies fell off, so they are grazing right now....

Stuff is reported more now that there TV, Newspapers, Web, etc....so it SEEMS like worse things are happenings.

Due to technology and education, events that could sprial out of control can be more easily controlled. We can ship food by sea and air in faminies, we can shorten wars with precision weapons and quickly mobile forces. Disease is more understood, and Dr's can help contain/limit outbreaks. Due to the destructiveness of weapons COUNTRIES are less likely to enter into major regional or world wars.

However; should there be a break down in the above, 2012 numbers in catastrophic events could skyrocket way past historical incidents.

It starts this year....Dec 16-21 (depending on your location) and then we will have an "event" happen in March of 2013 (not sure what tho ...FF or Proj BB?). And then ALL HELL BREAKS LOSE on 6-16-16 (AntiChrist reveals himself in the new temple would be a good guess...plus some apocalyptic events ("bowls" or "vials") of biblical proportions I imagine. You heard it here first...where did I get the date? It came to me in the shower yesterday.

And yes the time span from 12-16-2012 to 6-16-2016 is 3.5 years (42 months). And, FWIW, some scholars originally thought that the ''number of the beast'' was not 6-6-6 but rather 6-1-6.

I've been exploring Revelation systematically in my own threads, and as far as I'm concerned nothing in those chapters points towards "2012" (or any other specific date).
People picked on that date for reasons which have nothing whatever to do with the Bible.
So I agree with you that there is no reason to pin the four horses down to this year.
(But bear in mind that wars, epidemics, and famines can begin without much notice).

Maybe I have a really good imagination when I read, but this is no where near as bad as what should be happening if this is the Apocolypse or if Nibiru/X is approaching...

I was expecting something more akin to the 2012 movie... if this is it, rather anticlimatic.

I was looking for outright anti-Christian persecution aka Nazi Camp style,bodies hanging from power poles to rot and be devoured by crows and buzzards, people suffering from festering sores as they wallow in devilish debauchery and sexual deviance, world wide famines, fast paced global climate change... much more accelerated than what people claim now... wars and nuclear fallout... asteroids and heavenly bodies slamming into earth... devestation on a Biblical scale... mutated hybrid insectoids or a mechanical variant stinging men to the point of wishing for death...dark swarms of flies flowing from piles of maggot covered bodies... openly satanic rituals in the Vatican... the antichrist in the Temple of Jerusalem... single world currency and mark of the beast..

that's right, cats and dogs lying together!

2012 is not '' the '' year, it is the year most of us realize we have screwed our own planet.

After looking at those stats you wonder then you can conclude less deaths from diseases cause of doctors, more warnings and help in disasters, all from scientific improvements, yet we have less food and more death from wars over rubble and smuck, so much for science making the impact it should be allowed to.

That just goes to show you, we are hellbent on creating our own apocalypse, the fatcats though are sucking up all this world can give before it pops a top. Pretty depressing actually.
