NRA + KKK = NKRKAK?

Has there ever been a conspiracy or collusion/connection brought forwards between the NRA and the KKK?

I was rewatching Bowling For Columbine recently, and have a look at this clip:-



The interesting bit is where they point out that...

1. The NRA was formed the same year that the KKK was deemed an illegal organisation
2. The NRA was the driving force behind one of the first gun laws which forbade black people from owning a gun

I guess that in conspiracy circles this may be old news, but I did do a search and couldn't find anything about it on here or on Google

I doubt it. The NRA supports the rights of all people to own guns regardless of race; the Klan effort you mentioned attempts to restrict rights. There are plenty of black and minority NRA members.

As for the year being the same, lots of different things happen in a given year; doesn't make them connected.

Seems like a pretty weak attempt to smear the NRA, a noble organization that stands up for second-ammendment rights.

As I noted on the thread you just posted this on...a few minutes ago.. I appreciate the satire and humor.

I don't believe this missed a single overblown, over the top ugly american stereo-type or bad segment of our history to show. It added to the amusement. It's TOO overblown to ever take seriously..

I'm not trying to smear anyone... it doesn't really bother me one way or another as I'm not black and don't live in America

I just wondered because that's what this video's hinting at pretty strongly, and I like the film

Agreed, I am a card carrying member of one of these organizations and I have more than one black friend, I'll let them rest guess which one I belong to.
Note: the sheets in my home are flannel and or pastel colors, I have been seen in a pickup truck however!
This is just an NRA smear campaign.
Plus I know black NRA members but not one black clansman.
Besides back when most everyone had some race hate in them, my caveman ancestors used stone tools but please don't hold that against me, I've evolved to steel alloy tools.

lol, no I didn't mean it like that. The NRA isn't a racist organization and just fights for gun rights. Really just more of a corporate lobby for gun corporations.

Though the KKK are conservative politically and would agree with them on that issue but so would a lot of groups that have 0 to do with race.

In 1939... The Wizard of Oz and Gone With The Wind were released.

Gone With The Wind perpetuated many stereotypes, both white and black, southern, cultural, etc... It portrayed the US Civil War and slavery.

The Wizard of Oz portrayed the journey of a girl on a fantastic journey and her attempts to get back home to Kansas.

Blacks were portrayed as slaves in one... the wicked witch wore black... the good witch wore ..white.

Since both came out the same year, portrayed colors as good or bad... does that make Oz racists? NO

Likeiwse, the NRA and KKK sharing an overlap in timelines has no bearance of one over the other.

As shown here so many times... one can make something out of nothing.

Here's another interesting theory:

1. The Black Panther Party had it's highest membership level in 1969.
2. Actor Jack Black was born in 1969!

I think the implications of this are obvious.
