Al-Qaida? Another hit from Dimona? That amount of damage from a fertiliser car bomb? I dont think so. The entire frontage of the building blown out. Overhanging carpets, like an earthquake say survivors

Israel's intelligence chief, Major General Aharon Zeevi-Farkash, told the Israeli cabinet today that al-Qaida were most likely to be responsible for last night's bombings in Egypt, officials said.

Varying reports put the death toll from the suicide and vehicle bombings at three Red Sea resorts at between 25 and 31 people. Around 150 people were injured.

Thousands of Israeli holidaymakers were fleeing home across the border into Eilat following the attacks, the worst of which sheared outer rooms off a 10-storey wing of the luxury Hilton hotel in Taba, on the Sinai peninsula.

Sorry, but nitrated fertilized is a powerfull explosive. Recall if you will the damage done to the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City.

Im not a huge fan of Isreali policies in Gaza and the West bank, but there was no nuclear blast. For one, there are no reports of radiation. Nuclear weapons have radioactive signatures that can trace back to the reactor that enriched the uranium. If this was a Mossad false flag op, why risk being able to trace it.

I doubt this was nuclear at all. Besides nuclear = $$$. Theres no point going nuclear for something that conventional explosives like nitrated fertilizer do at lot cheaper, and with less interest to the UN. FredT is right, it's would have been detected as nuclear. And if somebody had nuclear technology they would hit a bigger target than a hotel.

Yes - do quote that. Who can honestly believe that happened the way it was later told

Actually quite a few people. That being said, besides the questionable link, the story it points too mentions nothing of a nuclear blast. So please provide a link that backs up your claim that a mini nuke was used?

dh, the blast effects of a nuclear device (regardless of type or yield) has certain characteristics that eliminate it as a possibility for this terrorist attack. The following is assuming a 0.7 kiloton yield device (that is about as small as you can get, 700 tons of TNT (more than 70 BLU-82 Daisy Cutters)

Detonating a fissile device causes an intense fireball with temperatures that approach the surface of the Sun. Such an explosion at the hotel would have incinerated it, and the surrounding buildings (not to mention every human within 300-400 meter radius. Where are all the burn victims? There would be thousands.

With this fireball is a flash of light; tremendously bright, people would be blinded (decreases with distance, and for the fortunate who are far enough away, only temporary). Where are all the victims suffering this effect?

The pressure wave would have flattened everything adjacent to the building (the beach bungalows were intact). Structures would have moderate to severe damage out to 1 kilometer from the blast point.

Since you think this was a "Israeli Mininuke" (whatever that is) I'm going to go out on a limb and assume a surface burst (unless you would like to incorporate an air delivery/airburst scenario). Where's the crater (the answer is the still standing hotel is hiding it).

Radiation effects both at the time of detonation and the lingering effects of residual/fallout radiation would be impossible to conceal. The media would be all over this, why aren't they?

The answer is this attack was perpetrated by terrorists using conventional explosives (I think that you lack perspective in regards to conventional explosives and the amount of energy they can release) against Jewish vacationers by Muslim Extremists. You may wish to spin it otherwise, but asserting an Israeli nuclear device, and CIA complicity is shear agenda driven drivel, or the epitome of ignorance embraced.

I can certainly understand how it is intellectually hard to grasp (especially when you have little experience with explosives) that something so small can do such massive damage. Never the less, the mini-nuke theory is full of holes, and simple explosives are an explanation that can hold water.

Here are a few examples of the power of small explosives which the common person might dis-respect simply because of their size.

1. A few grains of gunpower will knock a bullet through a car a few hundred yards away (unless you hit the engine block).

2. A couple sticks of dynamite can break up a solid rock wall.

3. Less than a pound of the explosives used in grenade filler (comp B?) will shatter a steel shell and send pieces flying for yards.

4. An artillery shell that you or I could pick up and carry around will destroy a tank.

5. A few 55 gallon drums of diesel and nitrate-based explosives will shatter the entire facade of the Murrah building.

Now you should also realize that it's not like the building was knocked over- just the facade was destroyed. Honestly, the damage caused in this (and most truck-bomb attacks) is just not as bad as you probably think, and it's not as if these buildings are engineered with extensive consideration for the idea that there might be a huge exposion in the lobby.

Last but not least, nukes are risky business. If I was going to run a false-flag op, I would make it untraceable and I would make it count. For example, I'd send some really smart guy with no material support to infiltrate a terrorist organization and give them good ideas for attacking very important things- like power plants and military bases.
Why would the Mossad attack an egyptian resort? What do they get from it? I can see why they would attack a low-level government office, or the WTC (just in theory), but not a hotel, and not with a nuke (unless of course they just wanted to practice nuking stuff -rolls eyes-)
