Okay. I'm fully aware that this is a Conspiracies site, but I am getting kinda of bored of the reptilian illuminati we are all going to die 2012 Olympics masonic secret signs paranoia threads and just want to have a thread dedicated to the sports.

The men and women who are going to perform to be some of the best athletes in the history of the human race that will hopefully obliterate records and the push the barriers of what is humanly possible with just training and determination. So just wanted to make a thread to see what events people will be watching the most.

Olympic time table and events.

Personally im obviously going to watch the mens 100m I reckon this is the year that Bolt could be beaten by his team mate Blake who is also incredibly fast, and also the only white man to run 100m in under 10 seconds will also be running. He will probably loose but it will be great to see the times at the end. Any one a sprinter hear? what sort of time do you do?

Other events I'm looking forward to are Judo, Wrestling, Boxing and Football, England have already won a game in the Women's, England men are playing tonight against Angola should be a walk in the park shame im gonna be out.

So what's people general view of it? you guy's gonna be watching or not? excited or you trying to actively avoid it?

It's Great Britain, not England. Don't want to go upsetting any of the Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish involved.

I always enjoy the athletics and the swimming. The cycling is also good, because GB are the best at it. The football will be good this year, boxings always good and the martial arts, apart from that many of the sports are pretty boring. Oh yeah the beach Volley ball is going to be great this year with it's location and other more obvious reasons.

Yay! A happy olympic thread!

Should be some good football on tonight, the ceremony i couldn't care about to be honest, i think i'll be at the pub instead of watching it, but looking forward to the track and field. The short distance running in particular, the football obviously (being a brit myself) and boxing are always my favourates. But for GB i think our best performances will be the sailing and the swimming.

Phelps is a human/fish hybrid

Sorry... could resist the conspiracy temptation

He is amazing though... it was a joy to watch and, even as a Brit, i found myself cheering him on.

Team GB have done great... Mo Farah race was had me out of my seat

yeah Micheal Phelps is unreal, and Mo Farah was a good race the man is quick. all the bolt races are good, but even in the 100M sprint it seams like about 30/20M to the end he slows down. i wanted him to break the WR

Brownlee brothers = simply amazing. To run the 10km part of the Triathlon only 83 seconds slower than Mo Farah managed in the stadium is just slightly unreal. I mean, c'mon! They had already done the swimming and cycling then too.

It was fantastic, shame one of them had that penalty or we could have had a Gold & Silver finish.

But those boys are super-fit, no two ways about it.

In fairness, everyone at these Olympics is super fit. Even the useless African rower! (my favourite type of Olympian).

The Brownlees are something else though. Love Dave Brailsford (UK cycling supremo) telling French journalists that UK cycling success is down to "extra round wheels" and them falling for it hook line and sinker!

Well that's true... although I couldn't see the weightlifters and Shot-putters doing a 10,000 metre race or a triathlon

Really? Did he and did they?

That's awesome.
