For years i've been hearing christians say "we go to heaven to be with Jesus"... That is the untimate goal...To be with him for eternity. Now im not making fun here... I seriously want to know what you think...

Stars for all serious replies... no trolls...

What i want to know is... what next? Do we just sit around smiling...."yay we made it!"

Once you're with Jesus, what will you do together?

What is there to do in heaven with Jesus once you get there?

Is it like a huge meditation session?

More praying?

Golf?

Beers?

What do you think?

I think people are going to be constantly singing of God's glory... Why?

I think after the flesh vessel dies, people get to see all moments in their lives on earth and how it affected others and self... And how God had a huge hand in all facets of your life behind the curtains. I think when that happens, people will finally understand the depth of the love of Father and how great He is.

But I also do think Heaven would be like earth, but without grief and pain, like a mellow, holy utopia.

I think this is funny because his headline reads 'JESUS FREAK CULT'.
So true.

Not really because he put that in there in an attempt to neutralize my labeling of "cult" to the belief system he has assembled by picking out pieces from a few different cults to fit his own personality, that way alleviating himself of the necessity to change anything about himself (leaving the unconverted, natural man).

Being critical of something is the complete opposite of taking it at face value.

If you take the bible literally, you are not looking at it critically. Being critical means dissecting something and coming to your OWN conclusion on it. You look at the bible and take it at face value, you are not a critical thinker, I am.

Care to add anything to my point of objective analysis? Or will you choose to ignore it? To ignore is to be ignorant, and that is exactly what you've been doing, ignoring my points and dismissing them without ever considering them.

. . . Heaven would be like earth, but without grief and pain, like a mellow, holy utopia.

"Would be" . . if, what? If people would quit making it hell?
Seeing how God is "so great", then it is not His fault, which leaves us as the cause.

But I don't take it literally. I said I take it holistically.

If you want to reiterate your points, sure. I've just seen you arguing semantics with NOTurTypical, and yes, I generally ignore posts that argue semantics.

Yet when someone points out ANY single verse, you look at it literally.

This whole debate has been centered around semantics, and only now are you choosing to ignore it? This whole debate has been about what the text of the bible means, text is written with words and semantics is the meaning of words.

Care to contradict yourself some more?

What "whole debate"? The subject of this thread is heaven and our perceptions of it.

So you only now refer to the topic of the thread after pages and pages of debating semantics?
You're grasping.

I asked you to articulate your points so that I might address them. Why are you unwilling to do so?

I have been articulating my points, you have refused to address them thus far. To address something, you must first consider it. You have yet to consider what I have articulated, so you refuse to address them.

He did that back on May 27,
and he explains it in this post
www.abovetopsecret.com...
where he says

I am in a cult, see to the left under my username, I'm in the "Jesus Freak Cult". But I don't know what "attacks" you're talking about, I'm generally of the business end of the attacks around here.
the idea being, if I am to say he is in a cult, then he will say, 'Yes, the Jesus cult'.
Now I think as I said above that he borrows ideas from cults (such as the "tough-guy sinner" cult presented by certain 'celebrity' preachers) to make his own synthesis that suits him, which is ok with me in concept, but I think he picks out things for not the best of motives, and so creates a poisonous philosophy of hate and bigotry (just my opinion).

Look, I'm not going to wade through 25 pages of posts in an attempt to determine your points, particularly when some of them have been refuted already (like "religion has caused more wars than anything, that's a FACT".)

How hard is it to create a new post that simply lists your points?

If you have not been paying attention to the debate then you have absolutely no right to assume that I have not been articulating my points. You expect me to wade through 25 pages in order to restate what I have already stated all because you're too lazy to do it yourself? Give me a break.

kk, whatever. If you can't even figure out what you believe, I don't know why you expect anyone to be interested in talking to you. Buh-bye!

I already have it figured out, you are the one that refuses to figure it out yourself. Stop throwing the blame on me when you are the one to blame, you look like a complete tool when you do that.

Stop running yourself around in circles, that doesn't get you anywhere.

They won't get loose if you don't open the gate. As it so happens, sometimes the gate must be opened in order to truly settle the differences. And by settling differences, I mean either finding the truth together, or agreeing to disagree, whichever prevents war.

In any case, welcome back.
