Children of the Drone

I took the day off and was browsing the news sites I normally do and came across this article. It made me sick, and very angry.

I won't post the pictures as they are rather repulsive, but this is the reality these people live through. Anyone who supports this "collateral damage" deserves to suffer the same fate as these children.

Okay, does anyone still support drone strikes on your "enemies"?

I have never supported it and never will. It is my theory that one loses some of the compassion one might have for another human being when you are able to use drones to do your dirty work.

It removes the person IMO, from the situation somewhat and allows them to get the feeling that they are playing some sort of high tech video game and the people they kill are just images on the screen instead of living, feeling, breathing, human beings. I believe this is done on purpose for a few reasons as well.

The photos are heart wrenching. I couldn't get past the first 2 or 3. In war there are no winners. We are made to believe that there are....but look at these photos, and tell me who wins.

Sadly, there are people who "win" in these situations since they are not culpable for their actions. The losers are the mangled children who are caught in the middle of this fraud of a "war".

You are right, war has no winners, but this is not a real war.

Yeah they keep their hands clean and get medals for it.

But they also gave Obama a Nobel Peace Prize so we know the world is all #ed up anyways.

just for grins and possible federal prison time... perhaps its time I began tinkering with my own drones. Hey, depending on the outward appearance of these things, it would be an interesting project. I shall name it... project RED BARON.

I would imagine a drone bombing would be like a drive by shooting.

You have no clue if you've killed your target.
You have no clue if you've mis-identifed the person.
You have no clue how many civilians you've killed.

It seems really sloppy even if the war on terror were real.

The war on terror isn't real so it's sloppy either way.

I have a few clues, you might not like them though.

Terrifying, thank you for bringing this to my attention.

This makes it all the more scary to know that drones are flying in U.S airspace, even though an attack on US soil is unlikely, for now..

In the same spirit I would like to post this video for us. It is what shocked me into trying to understand the Drone situation. Because of this vid I became interested in the Ethical Adaptor, one of the software components of the computer systems that will someday soon run these drones. It is being developed now at Georgia State University by Ronald C. Arkin for a time, likely in the very near future, when these bots will run autonomously.

2. Run-time affective restriction of lethal behavior,
which occurs during the ongoing conduct of a

values (e.g., guilt) are exceeded, the system will cease
being able to deploy lethality partially or in totality.
