Politically he's a republican... His mixed up bag of beliefs is closer to US Libertarian.

That being said, one of his MAIN goals is to get the government to audit a private company. Not exactly Libertarian.

Did I wake up in bizarro world? Look up the definition of political parties (Republican) and political spectrums. Each party is composed of multiple beliefs on that spectrum, with libertarians being only one of those beliefs. Libertarians can also be staunch Democrats. You can be a liberal and be a Republican. They are not the same thing, get informed.

ETA: I do agree auditing the Fed is not a typical Libertarian move, but his goal is to close it down to end the Fed, which is a Libertarian move. So the end result is a Libertarian play.

Libertarians can't be staunch democrats.

Libertarians don't believe in the public funding of education, they don't believe in regulating business or stopping business monopolies.

No democrats would knowingly go along with any of those positions.

As for the claim that the government should be used to shut down a business, because politicians don't like it, again, that hardly seems Libertarian.
